We just found out our AI has been making up
analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna
throw up.

So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.
lol this is gonna burst so fucking hard

Honestly if it were me hiring, I would put that in the reply email bc the number of ppl who just flat out do not READ the job description is staggering. Reminding ppl specifically what the hours are would save me a lot of pain in the interview process.

Take a few minutes to appreciate Drew Struzan creating the original artwork for THE PHANTOM MENACE. Truly a master at work.

To AI shills & capitalist institutions, writers are simultaneously not important enough to compensate while alive and so important once dead that their machine-ghosts must be resurrected to continue the work of profit-making. Vile.

2) as we are discussing our history she says she knows my hometown. I say bullshit. She says “no one of my good friends at boarding school is from there”. She pulls him up in Facebook and hand to god it was my best friend from 3rd grade.

1) I grew up in a small town (<7k) in the panhandle of Texas. True bumfuck nowhere. I then went to college at a small (<2k) private school in Colorado. My roommate is originally from Denver but went a small boarding school in the mountains for high school…

Ok so yeah, this has quickly become the #1 misunderstanding about the canceled grants
the grants are not “subsidies” or “entitlements” to Harvard or Princeton or whatever
they aren’t going into universities’ endowments
they are competitive contracts won by these universities to do research

amazing how grasping this seems in response to someone doing something, how much he needs to be able to rewrite what you saw. the lesson is to do more things

This ‘College Protester’ Isn’t Real. It’s an AI-Powered Undercover Bot for Cops
Massive Blue is helping cops deploy AI-powered social media bots to talk to people they suspect are anything from violent sex criminals all the way to vaguely defined “protesters.”
cops are paying for AI-generated online personas designed to collect intelligence on “college protesters,” “radicalized” political activists, and suspected drug and human traffickers: truly insane story by @emanuelmaiberg.bsky.social and @jasonkoebler.bsky.social

And Rupert Murdoch’s media properties? The New York Post and The Wall Street Journal made no mention whatsoever of the protests on either their April 6 or April 7 front pages. Surprise, surprise.
This isn’t just bad journalism. It’s a deliberate editorial choice that speaks volumes about how establishment media downplays collective action challenging power.
When hundreds of thousands of people coordinate across an entire nation to protest governmental policies, that’s not a page 18 story. That’s not a “see more in section B” situation. That’s front-page news. Period.
To sum up: An estimated 5 million people protested in 50 states but the stories were deliberately relegated to the back of most major newspapers.

Keeping porn as a form of protected speech is crucial, bc if the gov can ban porn for being too "degenerate", they can (& will) ban anything else that they deem to be degenerate as well
(Sex ed/CSA prevention, queerness, adult couples sending nudes to each other, non-sexual artistic nudity, etc)

Nintendo can get around the tariffs by using a floating barge with claw machines just outside US waters
You can take a boat and pay $450 for unlimited attempts to win a Switch 2 from a claw machine
If you win, it counts as “personal treasure,” exempt from tariffs under maritime salvage laws

Microsoft
Microsoft is perhaps the most complicit tech company in Israel’s illegal apartheid regime and ongoing genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza.
it feels like there is a very determined effort by games media/industry people in particular, and most of the audience in general, to simply not talk about Microsoft getting added as a priority target to BDS. not hard at all to guess why but it's still shameful
