Green Day's - Greatest Hits (If they were FUNK) YouTube video by Conhuir

@greenday.bsky.social are one of my all time favourite bands. Them, their brand of #punk laid a foundation for the man I would become. Billie Joe is a fantastic & versatile songwriter, & this selection of #Funk covers shows that his words transcend #genre. 🕺

What Farage *says* he thinks changes as often as British weather in the Spring.

I will work hard, but I will not rush.
There is a good saying for all creative work: “it can be fast or good, but not both.”
I assure eager listeners that, when I am satisfied it is as good as I can make it, it will be released to all platforms.

Seems I was a tad too optimistic the next #ThePurgatorialMan #ClassicLiterature #podcast. I want each reading to retain the #drama, #mystery, and convey beauty of the text as best as I can. I’m definitely a #perfectionist, but I don’t think seeking perfection through passion is necessarily bad.

Ray Bradbury's work is glorious and Farenheit 451 is stunning. I love his SF stuff, like his stories of Mars. They are so different from his SF peers by having pretty much no actual science in them. His stories of childhood are what particulary connected with me, though. I love Dandelion Wine...

I can’t wrap my head around people genuinely comparing Trump with Jesus. Trump, in this context, is quite literally the anti-Christ.

The #NewEpisode of #ThePurgatorialMan #literature #podcast is well on the way! I have #recorded the narration and been working through the #edit. This week‘s story turned out to be a lot longer than I had estimated, but it should be ready in the next couple of days! #HGWells

Are they that insistent on remaining out of power forever? I mean, it works for me, but I would have thought that the Tories themselves would hold off making these kind of announcements until after they had won an election officials of false promises.

This is such a bizarre take… these see children not having babies as a problem now? I guess next week they’ll have another reason to demonize young parents again.

It's a great movie, but I don't like that DVD artwork.

Give it time. Right now, he has power, as do many of his supporters. That power will not last long. Every tyrant is ultimately the author of their own desctruction, and I am cofident that he has destroyed enough good and friendly relationships that he will not be able to hide.

Sadly, it is indeed the case that he knows and doesn’t care. His supporters obviously don’t care that he has no actual beliefs beyond hating those he marks as „foreigners“ (wherever they are from), unless said foreigner is rich and hates average/poor foreigners.

Huh, this is indeed strange. I always thought he had an entirely consistent belief system that didn’t change with the wind. Does Farage realise that he’s coming across as a hypocrite? Perhaps his constituents can bring the is up at his next public meeting, which I’m sure will be very soon…

Urgh, that’s a phrase that conjures an *abominable* image, particularly in the context of Johnson.

#genre, like #nations & #race, are #SocialConstructs & #manmade, good only if you want #division. I choose #unity. ✌️

Definitely feeling in a Jackson mood today. My last copy of #Mj ‚s #Bad, I bought on tape in the late #80s. I lost interest and couldn’t appreciate the creative genius and astonishing talent back then, as I leaned into #rock over #pop.

Just a Little Bit of You by Michael Jackson on Apple Music Song · 1975 · Duration 3:14

This album, and particularly this song is so perfectly mixes #MJ ‘s #Motown credentials with his brothers and solo, but also highlights why #Michael became the superstar of #TheJacksons he did. He would have only been 16 when recording this. 🤯

Thank you for the offer. For this particular tale, I have periodically worked and revised over a long time. (Many years) Several versions have had readers, but now I feel I need to just have faith in my own writing. When I made music, my joy and faith was enough. I need to reclaim that.

This! And even if it’s supposed to be amazing and has won all kinds of prizes, it doesn’t mean that it will connect with you. Beauty or beast, find what works for you, and that is all that matters.

I left Twitter / X (damn, I hate that name) because of Elon Musk. It was always full of obnoxious people, but none more so than Musk himself. Once he started treating it as his personal playground, firing the teams responsible for platform and community security I was gone.

Hm, interesting. Thank you for that insight.

Jimmy Carr has his brand. I find the "real" Carr and his comedy persona to be somewhat mismatched. I don't like judging on appearances, but younger Carr's comedy felt like a character he created. When I see him now, I suspect he really is just a creep.

I am preparing it anew as a short #self-publised #ebook, but I am split on the #name.

I changed it, but am considering changing it back. Based on the name alone, which one speaks to you more?

* The Flight of the Firebutterflies
* Black Snow Flakes Against the Night Sky
