Sorry for being so extremely in late, but my pc died (and my phone is dying too XD) and took me a month to return while I was detoxing from socials.

Ok guys.
I wanted to stay on hiatus a bit, but my pc took it a little too seriously and my motherboard and RAM died. It took me almost a month and several hundreds of euros to have it back almost completely new and with the new OS :V
Moreover... current state of the world make me so fkn ANXIOUS.

I've just realized I'm not in any of the new fandoms around here bc AAA games, especially RPGs really not my kind of game 😶 and I don't even watch shows and movies so often (twice, trice a year maybe?).
So I know sth Veilguard, Rogue Trader, Arcane and so on from what I see here XD

To think that I RPd Ethan and my partner RPd Heisenberg 😂
And I haven't even played it bc it's absolutely not my genre.

I absolutely need to get out of all this, somehow, someway.
I feel like the more time passes, the worse it'll get and I have so many things I'd like to do.

I don't lack ideas. I just feel constantly paralyzed in the ADHD sense of the term.
I'm unable to focus, to organize what I want to do and to do it.
I keep accumulating ideas and projects but I've become unable even just to watch the YT videos I'd like to watch to learn new things 😭

I can't say how much I hate this writer's block that has been going on for a few months ☹️
On a side I think it's my ADHD getting worse on a few sides or maybe me being less able to control it.
That's why I think I'll try to get diagnosed in the new year.

Afaik, being product-based, there are no exceptions for small businesses.

JUST. SAYING.

For me, it's almost never the "how you can do it ethically" but also "why do you want to do it" "for what" and "with which goal".
If the community do it to be rich w/o doing nothing for the rest of their life, contribute to nothing and just roll among hyperconsumism and luxury, personally it's a no.

I mean, ideally, wouldn't be better to run this massive chain of pure calculation power for research and to discover/pushing something who would really benefit the world like volunteer computing projects do (Rosetta@Home for an example)?

When you buy a unit of cryptocurrency, you buy nothing but the philosophy behind it. The (to me utopian) idea. It exist only as long as someone is eager to pay real money to buy them or to give money when you sell them.
It's not different from setting up a currency made from Monopoly bills or shells

Moreover, on a macro-side, crypto consumes energy that could be used for something better, imo. Cryptos can exist only if an informatic network still exist. In a world so power- and water-hungry we're using systems that consume both IMMENSELY to generate a currency that exist only on a virtual plane

The micro-cosmos are almost never a problem. Is not plastics. Is not AIs (speaking of energy. Not stealing ppl's work w/consent for training). Is not lumbering. It's the greed behind it, the speculation, the big names exploiting everything. With these "actors" involved, "ethically" is not possible.

Trying to collect the hardware in the less brutal way possible or stripping the whole market of gaming GPUs through bots, raising prices 4x to poor ppl who need a simple one to play on their pc like happened a few years ago, forcing nVidia to develop a specific one for miners, trying to limit that?

I read about him (or sth similar). Problem is that the whole world could be run ethically, if ppl would want to. However, what's the current reality?
What's the base now? Ppl trying to mine ethically or exploiting countries with low electricity prices and make blackouts raining on poor residents?

I'm not talking about temporary hyperfixations but things that ask you for efforts, mentally and through time, like a new blog, a new specific account, a new hobby with specific project for it (like sharing or selling the results of it), etc.
Are you able to manage the time? The organization?

Calling all my ADHDer ppl w/ a lot of different interest: how do you manage situations like 1) have the push to do more than once at the same time; 2) deciding if starting a new personal project/hobby or not, especially when you REALLY want to but you know you're already struggling?

I had to snip out my favourite moment from #TheGameAwards. @laratlarian.bsky.social's words echo the heart of every developer. The industry needs to listen.

We just want to make cool stuff for people.
