Yesterday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit blocked more than 1.1 million patients from using their Medicaid insurance at Planned Parenthood health centers. In doing so, the court is putting as many as 200 Planned Parenthood health centers at risk of closure.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court issued its ruling in Medina v. Planned Parenthood of South Atlantic—paving the way for South Carolina to kick Planned Parenthood out of its Medicaid program over its status as an abortion provider.

Make no mistake--we are seeing an appalling erosion of the rule of law in the United States today. This is also yet another shocking attack on access to reproductive freedom.

Earlier this week, in a jaw-dropping moment, Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee voted to repeal the FACE ACT. This bipartisan legislation passed Congress decades ago and was meant to provide reasonable safeguards for those seeking basic reproductive health care.
