Nice article, Sam.

Congratulations Guy! - really excited to hear this news. Not least because I'll be able to find all your stuff in one place.
Presumably they mean don't write if your motivation is money/fame, as opposed to an intellectual pursuit.
More of this sort of content please
I made this point to Michael Owen once when he was raising money to run the London marathon. I got many uncharitable replies.
I think it was a brilliant Oscars, all told. No complaints.
(I know, I'm not doing social media properly)
F1 was the only one of the 10 I didn't see, so I shouldn't comment. But I thought it was an attempt to show they were taking more mainstream films into consideration.
I struggle to imagine anyone - sincerely - hating the film, so yes I'm sure it picked up a lot of 2nd/3rds.
I tend to think OBAA won a lot of Oscars chiefly because it's a tremendously well-made thriller, rather than any deeper meaning or quality of the adaptation.
After all, most viewers and voters won't have read the book, and clearly loved the film regardless (me included).
My hot take is the same as your hot take.
I can see the point (and the comments in agreement) but I will say with Sirat it makes you feel somewhat differently to what the plot suggests. (Better not to know the plot).
I took two casual film goers to see it and they both loved it.
Seeing No Other Choice with a big crowd at LFF (with Park intro) was one of my absolute highlights of last year. It's a brilliant movie.
Good stuff here on what may happen in Iran following Khamenei's death.

I am pleased with myself as I spotted that if you bought her album on CD by Monday you could get tickets without any fuss yesterday.
Spot on re Sentimental Value. He gets everything he wants in the end without budging an inch. It's actually quite depressing.
The way he treats Elle Fanning's character is also pretty horrible, and rather overlooked in all the adoration.
Awesome. Just over 21 months here. The experience of watching movies has significantly improved (among other things).
fwiw it’s been about six weeks since Trump pardoned the former president of Honduras who had been convicted of trafficking drugs into the US
Very much on board with connection and community being key to happiness. But very much do not relate to living *in London* and struggling with reasons to leave the house.
I feel like given JE was in her movie Night Moves there is probably a connection.
Lovely stuff Rick - thanks a lot. Will come back to it, particularly after seeing The Searchers for the first time at the PCC on Boxing Day. Keen to see Rachel Getting Married too.
Re A Real Pain, I wonder if you've seen Old Joy - feels like a boiler plate for the movie, particularly the ending.
it's a good film at least.
This is exciting, Josh!
Test. Seems to work for me.
I love Kelly Reichardt with all my heart - Showing Up is one of my faves - but Marie's issue with The Mastermind isn't entirely unjustified. It starts out as a relatively normal crime caper and only becomes a Kelly movie half way through. (Still loved it of course)
Is it not also the case that drug use is more mainstream now than a generation ago, meaning drinking may be down but intoxication is still as popular?
I think you are right to be baffled on this occasion.
Surely most teens are now priced out of that particular activity.
