this is true, and also so bleak that I shall log off now and go to sleep.

I can barely eat one egg without being visited by inspectors from the organisation against biochemical warfare the following day, HOW do people eat 210 eggs per year?!

if you'd started yesterday, I would've come over to help. Nothing delights me more than sorting books.

if someone promised me to speak with a human being within 60sec of calling, they would have to be powering their customer service centre by burning kittens for me to _not_ sign up.

I might have to do a list of reasons for each country to live in, and decide.

Today, I used a public restroom, and another woman turned on every single one of the four available hand driers, holding her hands underneath each for like 5 secs and moving on to the next.

I backed away slowly without making eye contact.

Me: "maybe I'm not ACTUALLY really autistic"

Me, 10mins later: "Sorry boss, someone's used my favorite bike rack in the basement, and then they used a hair dryer in the showering area, so I have to take a day off to recover from this double whammy!"

going to the public library, just to walk around between the shelves, is sometimes the main non-work way that I can bear being around other people

Yes, libraries are invaluable for their collections and services they offer, but also social contact without the expectation to interact with anyone or spend money is so important to so many people

I can shine a light on the dislike for Merz - he's old, in a more-than-age sense. Outdated. Backward-looking. He thinks that Germany was great in the era of Kohl, and he wants to go back to those days. He doesn't understand that Germany needs to change, fundamentally.

oh yeah, and even if you say "it's fine if you eat, I just don't want anything or don't like xyz", it's like you're breaking the social contract somehow.

I've been unhappy the last few days.
I want to go home but then I realize that I'm supposed to be home.

yesterday, I reviewed what a colleague had done to take a ML notebook to turn it into an automated pipeline.
it ran through without a hitch, produced results.
when I looked closer, turned out it had removed 50% of the columns from the training data and returned the same result regardless of input
