— all rounded off by just killer performances by Russell and Elliott.
A standout scene occurs very early on in the film between Milena (Russell) and Stefan (Elliott). It is one of the few scenes that remain unbroken by temporal (memory?) displacement, communicates everything you need to know about these two characters, their relationship, and their motivations
Rewatched Bad Timing (1980, dir. Nicolas Roeg.) for the first time in a long while; what a deeply engaging, horrifying, and wild time!

"Anger and depression and sorrow are beautiful things in a story, but they’re like poison to the filmmaker or artist. They’re like a vise grip on creativity. If you’re in that grip, you can hardly get out of bed, much less experience the flow of creativity and ideas.”
— David Lynch
