The PC DOS version of 'Allo 'Allo! Computer Fun! may have been released, but no copy had ever surfaced. Until now. Preserved from original master disks for the first time from Games That Weren't:

I'm making a game where you write songs, practice and play gigs!

Hehe, aner ikke. Kult, da. :)
Heh, no, it doesn't have my Sharp MZ games either come to think of it. Still, I can't remember ever having heard of new games for the Altair computers before. :)
No, it definitely is! ;)
It's probably been 30 or so years or more since I played it on my Amiga, but I still remember the feeling of triumph that I got from that game.
I also bought Sentinel Returns of course, that was a great game too.
This is pretty amazing. Draw accurate landscapes from The Sentinel on a pen plotter? And animate them? I'm definitely in!

I do my projects for a lot of reasons, but seeing what people do with them? Yeah, that's a big one. π

This looks amazing, and really shows the timeless quality of the game. I know Geoff Crammond is working with the new MicroProse on some Grand Prix related stuff, but I really hope The Sentinel is not forgotten...
One of my favorite bits from the pages of Creative Computing (June 1981) is this article about how Alan Sutcliffe created the computer display for the Nostromo landing sequence in the film Alien.
I love it. I hope people also try Hoi AGA Remix (Hoi is the cute dino that follows Moon Child around). It can be frustrating, but play it with infinite lives just like you would play Super Meat Boy and I promise it'll be fun.
Honestly, "Awesome!" doesn't even begin to express how impressed I am that you did this.
Checked Mobygames, and there's not a single Altair game from after 1982 in their database.
Ooh, this looks pretty neat!
Sure, fixed it now. :)
Awesome!
I have just released my latest free game. Its a version of my Aquarius Grid Trap game..BUT..this version is for the 50 year old Altair 680 and 8800 series of 70s computer. It supports ANSI terminals as well as standard serial TTY and even a real Teletype! loudscotsbloke.itch.io/grid-trap-al...
Completed the second level, the trick for me was to buy the "upgrade" that reduces the amount of bullets the enemies shoot.
One thing I have to admit I don't like is that enemy shots often share colours with the background, and sometimes I just don't see them.
Considering how much bad luck you had with publishers et.c. I think it's high time you get some proper credit for the cool games you did. :)
I have ALWAYS been amazed. Since the first time I sat there with Miami Vice loading up on my Commodore 64.
Well, that WOULD make a lot of sense!
A billion years ago, more or less, I interviewed Metin Seven ( @seven.eurosky.social ) and Reinier van Vliet of Team Hoi about Hoi and Clockwiser. Have a look:
Welcome back! I was wondering why my original comment on @gamesthatwerent.com's post on Amiga Moon Child kept getting new likes, and then I checked the original post again and holy shit!
Then the memes started popping up in my timeline ... surreal stuff. :)
Hi again Metin :)
Thanks, that's good to read - when I play it, all I see are the flaws. :) I do need to make a sequel, though.
I still can't believe that happened. :)
Just thinking back to the amazing time when Retro Gamer magazine reviewed @jfroholt.bsky.social 's awesome game Minesnake and gave it 82% ! In my opinion, best Snake-type game available for the Sharp MZ series :D They also gave us a two page spread with an interview with Joachim too.
Yes, I found the first level pretty easy with the right ship (the one with the spread shot), but it got very hard from there.
Obsession on the Amiga. It was originally released on the Atari ST in 1994 (with fewer colours).
Technically, I guess there are magnets on this table in Obsession (1994), though I'm not sure if they are simulated or scripted as I believe they're only active in one neat but somewhat gimmicky mode. The screenshot is from the Amiga version.
The demon in Night of the Demon. There's a magnet above her (can't quite see that part on account of the ball being on its way down the drain). Completely crazy mode.
Was SlamTilt (1996) the first virtual pinball game to feature magnets? This stuff was intense!
Managed to grab a screenshot just as I lost the ball.
Fighting a boss in ZPF.
I can't remember this level from R-Type.
Boobs!
ZPF title screen.
ZPF just launched on Steam. It's quite fun! And probably worth it for the pixels alone.
Bob Jacob wanted to put Hollywood into a game box and nearly pulled it off. Defender of the Crown, Wings, Rocket Ranger, and a football game that quietly inspired EA Sports, all from a studio that lasted five years. youtu.be/EN43CmoJpyc #Cinemaware #DefenderOfTheCrown #RetroGaming #GamingHistory
