That's it, my frail old mind can't take any more posts about American politics. I'll be back later for more punishment.

Coyote! Nice! We have then around here too. Don't be afraid of them, they will stay clear of you just keep smaller pets away from them and don't feed them and things will be fine. They are wonderful for taking care of smaller pests like field mice and squirrels.
You guys need to rein him in. The issue isn't only the damage he's doing to the once United States, he's the greatest economic/political disruptor in the world. It will be a miracle if the world manages to avoid a recession, let alone a depression while he's in office.

Oh good, more ravings from a member of DonOLD's liquor cabinet.
I watched his speech on YouTube yesterday. When it was done the first thought that came to mind was that Canada sure dodged a bullet by not electing Pierre Poilievre.
π― Now, if DonOLD would only cooperate so we could get the party started. π₯³ππΉ
Oh my God.
Good. However, they really have to shorten the tooth to tail ratio.
The tooth-to-tail ratio, is the number of military personnel it takes to supply and support ("tail") each combat soldier ("tooth").
Capitalism in the rest of the developed nations is mostly fine. Capitalism run amok in the Oligarchy of America, not so much.
Good, it's nice to see them starting to approach the levels of when I was in. I still remember the bloodletting from when Pierre Trudeau was the PM.
I just hope that the majority of this expansion does into Combat Arms. 3 brigades is way too small a force to do what is asked of them.
Remember, remember, the 3rd of November...
Went out for lunch and found the road to the restaurant was under around twenty centimetres of water. Unlike this guy, I found another way to the place.
Lots of flooding with the snow melt.

A round, fried hors d'oeuvre sits on a plate with a shocked expression. It is surrounded by others like it, except for an empty spot next to it.

I'm old enough to have lived in a time when there were no charter rights. What we have now is a damn sight better than then.
I still remember being in Montreal during the October crisis of 1970 when 497 people arrested.
No charges, no habeas corpus, no rights.

And Section 33 is designed to prevent deep pocketed people like Elon Musk from subverting the operation of the government in court.

As I wrote... It's not perfect, but nothing ever is.
The notwithstanding clause (Section 33) can only stay in force for a maximum of 5 years, then it has to be reinstated. During that 5 years, should the people want, they can work to unseat the government that invoked Section 33 in the first place.
It's not perfect, but nothing ever is.
The reason the Notwithstanding clause was put in place was to prevent those in office being hamstrung in running the country. While there have been a few times that it was misused, without this clause those whose goal is to obstruct government actions would have brought Canada to its knees.
