Three truths:
People long for old tech because modern media tech generally sucks from a user experience/ownership perspective.
Most commenters haven’t read the essay and don’t realize it’s not really about media tech.
Whoever wrote the tagline/social media post for this essay failed miserably.

I’m hoping this pushes change that benefits us in the US as well. Thank you!

This “slow everything down to 0.0000001” speed approach gave me hell in my early days of game dev. I had to learn how to make sounds play independent of timescale of the game so that UI sounds and menu music/ambience would play normally. These days most audio middleware tools have a feature built in
If you go to the order page (you should have a link in email) you can find your tracking number there if one is assigned.
I got a tracking number mid March. On March 18th it updated with "parcel information received." Then on March 27th I started seeing some movement: a parcel scan. On the 30th it said it departed Hong Kong. Then it arrived yesterday.
Tracking felt pretty opaque but it did arrive.
A Retro Remake SuperStation One MiSTer unit in its retail box.
Finally. I already have a MiSTer and I didn’t really need another one, but I wanted to support what Taki is doing. And if mine ever breaks, I’ve got a backup.
Eternal Darkness. I want a sequel. Or a prequel.
Seeing Mario Galaxy this morning.
Stop what you're doing and go listen to the music of @micropolyphonia.bsky.social for a bit! "Ice Giants" might be my favorite - absolutely stunning. If you have a subwoofer, make sure it's ON!

But how do you get it to that slightly crunchy/melt in your mouth texture? That is the best.

The game is kinda awful, but that’s part of the fun for us I guess.
This game. My wife and I initially bonded over a love of video games, horror music, and music. We ended up getting married on a Friday the 13th. She now has a stack of copies of this game on NES, one for each year of marriage. The stack sits with the rest of our game collection.
Black Box HG-2. But saturations are like spices. It’s good to have a handful for different applications.
This is so fucking disappointing. Horizon Chase Turbo and HC 2 are outstanding games. Go pick it up if you want it. I’m glad I’ve got a physical copy. I wish I had a DRM free copy of HC2. RIP Aquiris, they made the best arcade racer since Outrun 2.
Hey #gameaudio one of our own needs some help.

Parent of a 15 year old here. You’re 100% correct.
I hope that helps!
I’m using .HDF files. It looks like the same naming convention as the Neon68k set but I’ve just got the HDF files, not the other stuff from within each zip file. I don’t remember if I extracted the HDFs myself or not.
I believe it’s the Neon68k set. Not 100% sure, it’s been a long time. If you’re interested I could look tomorrow and reply with whatever disk format I’m using.
I’m using a Sharp x68000 core in RetroArch. I installed Emudeck, I launch it from within the Emulation Station front end. I don’t remember what bios/OS files were required for x68k but I found them and added them. Then I think I’m using a collection of 68k games prepped for MiSTer use.
Yamaha QY70/100?
I’m almost done with BG&E on the GameCube. It’s such a fun game. Enjoy!
This was my assumption. It looks like a NOT Saturn.
DEMO LIVE!!🚨🚀
Wild Blue Skies is playable right now at Steam Next Fest. On-rails shooter action. Branching paths. Boss fights. Bowie's confidence. Roe's standards. Thorne's ego. Chuck's wholesome energy. It's all there.
Go play it. 🎮

I feel like it’s harder than ever to find cool demos in Steam Next Fest. I feel like I’m seeing a lot of AI stuff. Have you found any cool games? Wild Blue Skies, Eternal Life of Goldman and Clockwork Ambrosia are my good finds so far.
The title screen for Ys X: Proud Nordics.
I, uhh, feel like I’m getting sick. Cough cough. Yeah. That’s it.
The latest game in one of my favorite series of all time just released this weekend. Time to go slay some monsters.
