The bloke is a poet!

Favourite passage:

"Perhaps the most visible gulf between the two sides, though, was right in the centre, where Guimarães and Sandro Tonali were taking Declan Rice back to school. Rice is a fine, gutsy, intelligent player, but he simply has insufficient dawg in him for games such as this."

Total Bruno sucks Arteta’s side into turf war and leaves them beaten and bruised | Jonathan Liew Bruno Guimarães inspired Newcastle to the Carabao Cup final with a ferocious intelligence that honed in on Arsenal’s breaking points

Everyone should read this #NUFC match report by Jonathan Liew.

"Ask not if Newcastle are ready for Wembley. Ask if Wembley is ready for Newcastle."

Miggy has earned #NUFC cult hero status forever. No one can fault his effort over the last 6 years and for that we are all grateful. As long as we continue to sign players with that sort of attitude, we will be in a good place.

Would he be less corrupt if he was a Middlesbrough fan or something?

Murphy has a lot of assets but isn't the most intelligent footballer. He is just in a form period right now.

He will be a great back up though. It is definitely time to pull the trigger on a left footed RW he can work with.

That said, we are clearly better for the win despite being wasteful of chances.

No one can convince me that that was a penalty. I'd be raging if that was against us.

It's more the tact used. Calling someone shite online is a bit reductive. Miggy was limited but he did some good things for us that will be remembered fondly.

I'll call him shite in the moment in my head when he does something stupid on the pitch but wouldn't write it out for the world to see.

I don't think it's really a 'big one' considering Burn is in the running for our player of the season.

Players cannot walk back into the side anymore.

I remember when we signed Miggy and how surprised I was that we'd finally broken our transfer record.

Will never forget the 22/23 scoring run, his weekly banger period and the PSG goal. Proper grafter.

Limited player but a #NUFC cult hero. Will miss him.

Ange is clearly out of his depth but I respect that Spurs are not sacking him to lay accountability on the players. He cannot be enjoying his job these days.

I know. These were realistic transfers, not necessarily who I want. I've resigned myself to DCL since last summer. As a free back up to Isak I dunno, could be worse.

The other free striker option is David and I just can't see us beating the competition.

Yep. A lot of Serie A players come to Prem and don't perform. I think Sandro's year off just training allowed him to adapt without the world's eyes on him. He returned with a third lung and a point to prove. Could well have been another flop if he never got banned. Just my thoughts. #NUFC

Confirming why I should get a Burn 33 for my collection.

I am glad there is little rumour and the fanbase has come to terms with it. A lot of other clubs have done the same now that the PSR reality has really hit.

I'd love us to spend but remembering last June I never wanna see that again as a fan.

I don't trust the media to not create a storm though.

I thought Tonali was a Milan untouchable, especially with how good he was during your Scudetto run in. I remember the Lazio winner.

We've had to let go of countless local lads in our history so I understand why you'd be pissed.

£55m was a steal for his ability.

Shows how good the coaching is that we've navigated ourselves out of some pretty bad stale periods since then. Not many teams could do that.

Who I really want us to sign though, if we were allowed to spend 300-400m like other clubs... (& not after selling)

GK - Someone who can pass
DC - Diamonde, Murillo
CM - ELLIOT ANDERSON, Gibbs-White, Elliot
RW - Mbuemo, Kubo, Bakayoko, Bobb, Rigg
ST - Ferguson, David, unironically Ekitike

Semenyo has proven he is worth the money we'd spend

Mosquera is a Mitchell signing

Sainz to work with Gordon as I think Barnes will leave

Calvert-Lewin is inevitable, free

Not the stars most fans would choose first but it is our financial reality & I think these would be canny additions

Considering budget and competition (Mbuemo will aim higher), I think we should look at a proven RW and DC and sniff around the Championship in the same bag as West Ham, Palace etc.

Since Howe joined our club as manager, Newcastle have the 4th highest points total in the league.

With a consistent RW and another few smart additions I can't wait to see what he can do.
