Rebecca has exPLODED with the Empyrean fantasy series: FOURTH WING, IRON FLAME, and ONYX STORM (releases Jan 21).
Can't speak to VARIATION but the Empyrean books a wonderful if you like fantasy. And dragons. The fact that the protagonist has physical limitations adds an intriguing flavor.
