I say it's not grounded or it's unmoored!
Dear Friends, Contributors, Subscribers, & Supporters of Literature, After 35 years of editorial and publishing excellence, the president of Gettysburg College has decided to end the Gettysburg Review. Lauren & I are understandably devastated. We have been offered a rationale for this decision, but it's frankly one that neither Lauren nor I understand or accept. It was made clear to us that they know little about who we are, what we do, and what our value is, and could be, to the Gettysburg College campus. We encourage you to reach out to the college’s president, Bob Iuliano, and provost, Jamila Bookwalla. Tell them what you think of this decision & the merits of publishing great literature. riuliano@gettysburg.edu (717)337-6010 jbookwal@gettysburg.edu (717)337-6820 ... We would love to hear about what the Gettysburg Review has meant to you. Please send condolences, anecdotes, and other stray and helpful thoughts to Lauren & me, and if we can, we will share them... Mark Drew, Editor
Our colleagues at Gettysburg Review have received some devastating news. It’s alarming for the literary community as a whole, & the SLM fam encourages everyone to voice their thoughts to the university that defunded them. All our voices matter! Why is it always bad news from my home state
That sounds perfect 😭 🍁
I wish! I'm at a bed and breakfast. (Super cute if you're ever in Florida! It's called The Amelia Island Williams House.)
Shocking behavior from such a respected season!

The weather is lovely, but I'm trying to write a gothic novel here! This is not helping my atmosphere!!!
Real talk.
We need 300 new subscribers (including renewals) to keep publishing issues at our current size. If we don't get hit that number we will need to scale back the magazine size.
Help us keep our size (or increase it!) over the next two weeks!

I've convinced myself that if I install this new floating shelf, my book will write itself! Updates coming soon 🤞
Your email finds me.
I try to strike it down with old magicks, but it has prepared for this battle. It trips me up with a blast of lightening. I fall to the ground as all that I am — several owls and a bewildered looking crab — escape my trenchcoat.

3/4 of the current fiction editors are from or interested in the South, so send us work with Southern settings, too!
