A great show!
A plant in a vase with an image of a Pope.
A tree in a Garden full of images of Popes.
Nota bene: As a Catholic, watering your small Pope plants and the big Pope trees in your garden while being away over the Easter weekend is essential!
A different kind of gardening 🧵, for #skystorians.

I have a 'History Department in UKHE' joke but it's been reduced from 250 characters to 50 and is now merged with jokes from across ten other largely-unrelated disciplines while still being expected to be Just As Funny.
Comic reference to the Ides of March.
It’s that time again…
fuck me for being this person, i guess, but public universities are a civic good and shouldn’t be run like businesses. and if you’re going to insist on running them like so, at least do some market research. students like their professors; they don’t want MOOCs taught by ChatGPT.

It was great to see you in your natural habitat - squinting away at guild mss 🤓 @guildhalllibrary.bsky.social really is the place to see the best books and people 😁
The lower half of a manuscript page, featuring a marginal figure dragging a portion of text encircled with a rope into place.
A marginal figure drags an omitted portion of text into place in this copy of Thomas Hoccleve's Regiment of Princes (Arundel MS 38).
the most annoying shift in my academic career
Everyone likes an alliterative early modern name of the day, so say hello to Dorothie Dipper 🙌
This is Albie. He was so touched by his family singing happy birthday in his native language that he didn't notice the cupcakes with his face on them. 13/10 hbd Albie #SeniorPupSaturday (TT: _sallyv)

The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Help Kelly Pannek
This one is for a REAL need and imma hopeful that an auto company gonna step up. KELLY PANNEK from the women’s hockey team got hits by someone who totaled her car. She needs a new car.
Lots of brands commenting that they want to help,, but few truly stepping up. Who can help,??
If we truly believe that higher education has economic, social, and civic value then that value must be shared. Not deferred onto the backs of those with the fewest options but reclaimed from those who have benefited most. Until we are willing to say that out loud, student finance reform will remain a distraction. The problem is not just the loan. The problem is who never has to take one and why.
"But student finance isn’t broken. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect inherited advantage while shifting risk onto those with the least."

my local park is full of hundreds of snow sculptures and someone has been adding museum labels
"Without feminism, the sequence of events that led to Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest would never have happened. It’s a reminder that feminism is powerful and important and even transformative, which is why there’s so much pushback..."
It is one thing for professors to resist AI in education; it is far more powerful when students do. Only a coalition between the two groups of students and teachers —and not the antagonistic one between “cheaters” and “cops”—will be powerful enough to create a movement.
Europeans – well indeed all non-USians – shifting onto @eurosky.social seems like a great idea given the current state of US politics:
