The United States of America must always be prepared to use overwhelming military force when necessary to defend our national security interests and protect Americans at home and abroad.

And, a President should have the latitude to make decisions to that end, but only to the extent that those decisions are also consistent with the inherent authority of a Commander-in-Chief under the U. S. Constitution and the provisions of the War Powers Resolution. To date, I have supported the President’s decisions relating to the Iranian conflict because they were consistent with these authorities and the ultimate goal of protecting national security interests.

At the same time, what sets America apart is not only our strength, but how we use it. Our nation has always conducted military operations for just causes and through just and moral means. This must continue in the future; otherwise we forfeit our legitimacy to lead the world.

So, let me be clear: I do not support the destruction of a "whole civilization." That is not who we are, and it is not consistent with the principles that have long guided America.

I have and will continue to support a strong national defense—one that is focused, disciplined, and firmly rooted in protecting the safety and security of the American people. But, how we protect the lives of the innocent is just as important as how we engage the enemy.

America is great because America is good.

One notable exception to the GOP quiet on this, Rep. Nate Moran of Texas

Republicans lawmakers have stayed mostly silent and GOP congressional leadership haven't yet responded to my request for comment.

More than three dozen Democrats are calling for Trump to be removed from office after the president warned "a whole civilization would die" if Iran didn't comply with his demands.

WNBA Players Had an Ace Up Their Sleeve in Pay Negotiations: A Nobel Laureate Harvard economist Claudia Goldin helped WNBA players win a nearly 400% raise. Starting this season, players’ average salary will top $580,000.

After Claudia Goldin became the first woman to win a solo Nobel in economics, she got hundreds of invitations.

She accepted three.

One was advising WNBA players on a labor deal. She helped players land the biggest % raise in US sports history.

Star Trek: The Next Generation, possibly the best television show ever, is not about spaceships shooting lasers at each other, it is about a man who represents the best of us trying to teach his robot son to be human while debating whether humans even deserve to exist with his best frenemy, God.

Trump's war with Iran is angering some swing voters who want money spent at home Swing voters who helped reelect President Trump in 2024 don't support his decision to go to war in Iran and instead want to see U.S. tax dollars spent tackling economic pressures facing Americans.

Not to BREAKING: water remains wet anyone, but our focus group of Biden -> Trump voters don't understand why the U.S. is at war with Iran and wish the money were being spent to lower costs at home:
