I rarely make grandiose statements like this, but I don't believe that cube would be of the size it is in 2026 without Gwen Dekker. GOAT status fr.
AI is the “asbestos of the internet”
does this work how I think it does
My pick is one of my top picks, even in a rotodraft, surprised it isn’t getting much love.
We love cube B&R day.
Like seriously:
Hire @dinrovahorror.mtgcu.be and pay him real dollars for his expertise/time, give him 24-40 seats and a way for people to sign up in advance, advertise it, and watch cube absolutely explode at MagicCon.
Let's keep the Shoebox hype train rolling~ Here's a quick message from one of our founders, Greg! (@dinrovahorror.mtgcu.be)
So, what are YOU most excited to see at Shoebox? 👀 #MTGCube
This week, we're drafting The Pillar, @gamesfinkel.com 's all-gold cube where each player starts with a Pillar of the Paruns on the battlefield. My draft picks in order:

Vertex: Steel City 2025 Event Report!
Shout out to @dinrovahorror.mtgcu.be for organizing and running the event, and to Guy on the Couch Cards and Gaming for hosting.
Format: 3 Cube Drafts via hedron.network.
Overall record: 5-3-1
Thank you to everyone who came to @vertex.mtgcu.be this weekend, especially those who traveled from as far as Indiana, North Carolina, and Seattle (!) just to come to my cube event 😭 Cube community remains undefeated forever
The tournament part is over. I finished 11th overall. Going to go grocery shopping and be a real person instead of fun cubing into the night.
Thanks @vertex.mtgcu.be for a great event!
PSA FOR MAGIC CON LAS VEGAS: It is VERY hot outside. Please don’t be out there longer than you have to and hydrate like crazy - I already tried to walk somewhere and got beat up by the sun 🥲
Lavender Totoro goes hard
If you’re coming to #MCVegas and looking to cube, definitely hit me or @dinrovahorror.mtgcu.be up. I’m sure we will be cubing every day. 🫡
Where my cube aficionados at? 🧊
@vertex.mtgcu.be is bringing a 2-day cube event to Pittsburgh at the end of June! Tickets are $50 and are on sale now. Available cubes and event info are on the website! vertex.mtgcu.be
So who's gonna visit Brad and I in the Steel City in a few weeks? 🙋♀️

As we get closer to the event, let's see what we're drafting! First, it's become a bit of a tradition to give a cube to the winner of the event, and this time we'll be cloning a fan favorite: @dvdsn.bsky.social 's Penrose Cube! No counters, no tokens; All good, clean Magic inspired by Odyssey block!
A surprise 5/6 Time Walk? Yeah that’ll do.
One example of what’s going to happen with board game prices in the U.S…with those prices then spilling elsewhere in the world, too. —WEM

More cats. Thank you artists!!
Lastly I wanted to shoutout all my opponents for this event who were super fun to play against (everybody was actually so nice) and for assisting with a special request. @ravesinthesky.bsky.social was unable to go so I had everyone make cat tokens for them! Here are just some of the ones I got.
Once again want to shout out @dinrovahorror.mtgcu.be @vertexmtg.bsky.social for running the event and all those who helped somewhere along the way.
Special shout out to Griff and @einstein9998.bsky.social for both making top 8 with Brady being 12-0 going in (crazy to be undefeated across 4 cubes).
No top 8 this time, but I had so much fun with friends and getting to meet people that I'm looking forward to the next one. If Greg keeps running events, I'll keep coming to them and if you're seeing this but haven't been to one yet, definitely recommend it.
I did end up getting the 3-0 with UBR Breachmaster. I had some spicy games and Bowmaster looked phenomenal. Also shout out Waste Not because it played way better than I could've hoped.
I did get (functionally) T1'd in the single game I lost by my opponent with an Urza+Gleaner to put me in check.
I decided to try to draft some of the more unique cubes and I ended up in @anthony.luckypaper.co 's Turbo Cube (cubecobra.com/cube/overvie...) which I had never played in person before.
Turbo cube is definitely my kind of magic, so I was just hoping I could get a 3-0 pin.
It was pretty late after the final round for the day, so I drove around for a bit to find food, ended up at a Tandoori Pizza. Tasty but my brain was cooked so I should've just had water and gone to bed.
I needed to drive back to Pittsburgh on Sunday so I'd probably only draft once and watch Top 8.
