Exactly one year ago today:
whenever people assume I am excited about a movie or show based on something I loved when I was 8 I just think about how weird it would’ve been if my dad got all pumped up about a Howdy Doody movie in 1986
I'm sorry
furry porn commissions are down
try plopping it near the rear element of the xenotar instead and see how spicy the readings get, afaik that's usually the lens element that gets made spicy (and/or spiciest)
I'm legit addicted to drawing shiny things

i have a super takumar in M42 that i hit with UV using this 3d printed contraption to make it a bit less yellow

an adaptation of the sandy loam chart, aka, a triangle where each side is an axis from 0 100, forming triangular little pockets in the center in a pseudo-3-axis chart form. the three axes are "hoinky sploinky" "doinky woinky" and "rinky dinky," each with a "pure" form (penis music, furret walk, and ukelele covers respectively). there is a minor screed here about electroswing sucking, which it does.

Fun fact: many of the prettiest photos taken by robotic spacecraft were similarly framed ahead of time by humans using simulators of view geometry to pick when the spacecraft should shoot the photo. Case in point: this photo of Europa over Jupiter from New Horizons science.nasa.gov/image-detail...
What I like best about the Artemis II photos is that it was taken by actual humans. An actual person had to frame it and manually adjust settings. It's their own artistic rendition of what they thought looked best at the time, something no probe, rover or unmanned spacecraft can take. it's art
Wikipedia snippet: On March 6, 2026, Lycos announced that their services, specifically Angelfire and Tripod, were experiencing temporary outages in a note on their frontpage.[6] Later that day, the message was updated to say "To our users of Angelfire and Tripod. We apologize for the service interruptions. Unfortunately we will be shutting down in the next 30 days. Please move your hosting to another host as soon as possible."[7] The message was removed from the homepage shortly after, without further official statement from the company.[8]
Hey if you still have an Angelfire or Tripod site, or if you like one, now is the time to back it up, like, urgently

A starfield filled with thousands of stars and shining clouds of dust. The Milky Way\u2019s elegant spiral structure is dominated by just two arms wrapping off the ends of a central bar of stars. Spanning more than 100,000 light-years, Earth is located along one of the galaxy\u2019s spiral arms, about halfway from the center. Credit: NASA
OH. MY. GOD.
THIS IS THE MILKY WAY SHOT BY THE ARTEMIS II CREW. LOOK AT ALL THOSE STARS!!!!

incredibly embarrassing, let it roll off you like water off a ducks back and embrace being called "unc" or whatever, it's completely natural for young people to do this and they'll respect you
“Whoever stole the purple marker, please return it!” written in green on a whiteboard. “No!” is written in purple below it.

fun Weird West dev anecdote: there was a decal on a gun shop that said "riffles" instead of "rifles", i pointed it out in the slack and this was the fix that came through and shipped
when i broke my arm last year nurses were going crazy over me learning how to design my own rehabilitation assistance tools in CAD and i would just say that CAD and 3d printing is just something that i learned what little i know by having an idea and playing with the tools like it's a toy
