@lindakalcher.bsky.social, Anne-Sophie Cerisola, and @gorissenn.bsky.social urge @ec.europa.eu to be more strategic about climate diplomacy.
“Intangible, fragmented and not well communicated” is quite the assessment, but it certainly strikes a chord.

@nrdc.org and @e3g.bsky.social have launched a tracker for countries' multiyear climate finance commitments to developing countries.
We'll be updating it regularly as new pledges come in, and hope it can be a useful resource for govts, media and civil society.
UPDATED – Q&A: What does China’s 15th ‘five-year plan’ mean for climate change?

Not a coincidence that several debates from the post-Copenhagen malaise have gained traction again in recent years, notably on plurilateral cooperation.
"The obvious conclusion is that decarbonising Europe’s energy system is both more necessary and more achievable than previously thought."
Nothing to do with me!

There are journal issues...and then there are journal issues! The truly epic 25th Anniversary Special Issue of the GEP journal, titled "Continuity and Change in Global Environmental Politics," is now live and free to read for the next 90 days through @mitpress.bsky.social.
The final agreement - adopted with significant delay - include three elements that increase the policy uncertainty in EU climate policy:
• backdoors to revisit the target
• unspecified flexibilities (CDR & international credits)
• conditionalities for the upcoming reforms of policy instruments

A must read for those interested in advancing any form of care or action to protect our world.

Enjoyed @jeffcolgan.bsky.social's new piece in which he builds on my idea to elevate climate change as structural factor alongside anarchy in IR. He argues anarchy, nature, & innovation are ordering principles that shape units & interact. 1/ academic.oup.com/isr/article/...
