The larger point of the author that they cannot fathom learning anything about teaching from experts outside their discipline reads to me as a skill issue---if you truly can't find anything to learn from colleagues across disciplines, that speaks more to your close-mindedness than their expertise.

If you were a non-Catholic who was forced to go to a Catholic school for a while in the dreaded middle school years, can you band together with others with similar experiences and collectively excommunicate one person? How many collective months/years do we need for this?
