these models all have their own tells. If everyone generated books through AI they basically would end up being madlibs with just a few different characters. Also the reduction of art and literature to content is just so ๐Ÿซ

These fluffy idiots are keeping my sanity held together by a thread

I love them so much

And now I'm at the point where I'm just tired. I'm so fucking tired. I keep remembering my little buddy that I took to class with me almost every day is gone now, and that people are getting snatched, and that there literally was a fucking tech bro sh@dow g0v oligarchy and I feel fucking insane

It is fun that things can have multiple interpretations across time and cultures though. It's why I love linguistics and anthropology. :)

So it actually is just an anti joke (or at least even allistic people tend to also think that), like what is brown and sticky, a stick.

(I am also very likely autistic but I'm too scared to get tested in this administration. Psych told me my mystery 'seizures' are textbook meltdowns lol)

Scene at a tournament in the 1300s: A knight in full armor on his horse (only without the helmet, which a page is carrying) rides up to a richly decorated stand of spectators. Subverting the expectation that he'd ask for a "lady's favor", he instead receives said favor from another, younger man who is tying a ribbon around the knight's jousting lance. Ladies look on surprised/shocked/delighted.

The Knight's Favorite

A wildcard for a medieval-themed tarot (that might or might not happen in the near future) where I had complete artistic freedom for the subject! โœจ
So I went with "what if courtly love at the tournament, but make it gay?" ๐Ÿ’œ

I hope all of that makes sense, and I don't blame you and we shouldn't be complacent or trusting. I had some coworkers who vibe coded (weren't programmers, but if they actually took courses offered they could have been), and talking with them was so mind numbing. It's the IKEA effect in full force.

I haven't used it in my coding because like you said, deskilling can happen FAST, but I've been strong armed into at least having to understand this stuff and how it can be applied with some semblance of ethics given the fact my job is demanding we integrate it.

These tech bros have made AI (which I hate that humanizing term, they're algorithms with large data sets.) synonymous with chatbots and image aggregation when there's smaller, more effective, and way less intrusive uses for it. But that doesnt give them money or control over our lives.

Not every model is created equally, and there are open source models being created that are making these tech bros VERY anxious and I'm all for it. Also models that are used for say, going through data or like in Dune for motion tracking eyes, aren't nearly as resource intensive

I don't like where llm and gen AI is right now. I think open AI is run by a bunch of freaks (we know now Th13l literally helped create 1nc3l culture with 3pstein)
It needs to be regulated. Heavily.
But that doesn't mean it has no responsible use in science and tech for data analysis & automation

(yes I used an em dash, I like them, this isn't an AI comment)
There is a difference between vibe coding (asking chatgpt to make flappybird for you then saying you know how to code)
Versus automating deployments, using it for linting, and not having to repeatedly write foundational code overandover

Stolen code is a little off. Obviously I don't know the code base of what Github copilot and others are using, I need to look into that. But a lot of code is open source and stack overflow, git, etc are all places to share code and work together โ€” HOWEVER

Given that I went to highschool with guys who "couldn't wait to get into the military to k1ll *slur for middle eastern people*" the pay is an excuse. Which they're not even getting apparently lol

Sadly they aren't always children. Some of them are in their 30s, and I would know because I used to associate with them. Now as someone who's going to be 30 this year it makes it even more hilarious in hindsight.

My favorites are
"Are you ok?"
"Well that's a weird thing to say."
"And in what world made you think I would agree with that sentiment?"

I don't know what it is but as soon as I sit in front of my computer at my desk, I'm getting in my head before I can even put words down. Writing in a Google doc on my phone? Suddenly wrote five scenes in three hours and plotted a whole other story without a second thought.

I'm literally seeing verbatim satanic panic shit just like what was happening with 1sra3l and blood l1b3l.

All it does is take away from the REAL ACTUAL HORRIFIC THINGS THAT HAPPENED AND GIVE LESS CREDENCE TO THE VICTIMS BECAUSE PEOPLE WANT TO GO VIRAL ONLINE.
