Front entryway and building the Boston Athenæum, a huge private / member funded library. It houses a lot of art and sculptures as well as Washington’s library. Two huge doors are held open to reveal two red and gold inner doors. American flag on the left and the library red flag on the right.

Old spiral staircase. It is painted sage green and coral with beige along the stairs. Green leaves on a coral background. Upstairs is the mezzanine walkway that leads from room to room, lined with bookcases. Ornate carved ceiling.

A creepy old doll sits on top of chair in a white balcony. Her left arm is slightly raised as she looks off into the distance. A bust of some old important person that I do not know is off to the far left. I have a feeling she has cursed many a traveler who dare look her in the eyes.

Went to the Boston Athenæum and smelled lots of old books

It is 👏👏👏 they have tours and day passes. It was a nice time ☺️

Outside of the Brattle where the deals are. Brick walls lined with bookshelves. Book carts in the entire outside alley. I found an ancient Ploughshares lit journal full of greatness for $3.

Staircase that once had white stone steps but are yellowed by the shoes of many book lovers. Wooden railing. Many posters of authors and books line the walls.
