On our local page, someone posted inquiring as to why patrol cars were in an area. The sheer number of “I hope it’s ice!” Or similar posts was so dispiriting

I literally checked 2 hours ago and it was like “maybe 5” 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have a stack of library books by my bed. It brings me joy. Just enjoy the goodness that books bring!

I was telling husband “how am I supposed to think of 3 days of stuff for kid to do over the long weekend” when he reminded me his uncle died yesterday and they were hoping to have services next weekend. I immediately said “oh thank God!” So if you’re wondering how parenting is going….just great.

Oh good. Come down with another illness one day after recovering from one. Kiddo is averaging 4 hours of sleep a night. And the country is falling apart in front of our eyes. But sure, let’s go to work like it’s a normal day.

Yes, we’re crazy! We’re in CT now so at least we’ll be home before the mess hits.

Me, all day: fuck, my throat is sore!

Me, after I finally stop attempting to sound like Jumba from the first Lilo & Stitch movie for hours for my kid: hey - I feel better!

It’s January 4 and somehow I already have 2 books I DNF.

Me: ok, so we’re dropping off 3 books at the library so you can pick up 3 new books.

Child left with 8 books.
