How would you fix it? Who would invest in a low rise retail street like that?

Best you could hope for is another tower with a few dentists in the ground floor.

First step would be to figure out how to attract and retain businesses.
It's too expensive for them right now.

I've seen lots of good bands play at Abbotsford Centre. Can just about get there and back on one charge if I'm lucky.

I am ok with bangernomics, but I would hate to spend all the money necessary for a new car.

As for activities, I think families are oversubscribed nowadays. When I was young, playing in the back lane was the activity!

That's good, the trick with Modo and/or Evo seems to be to use them very sparingly, as the costs quickly add up.

Do you drive at all - eg use modo/Evo or rent a car?

Making not like for like comparisons wades into murky territories IMHO. Other examples are: should cyclists pay insurance and licensing? Should they pay for parking?

Isn't that standard across BC though?

That's what people used to do with their immersion heaters in the UK - put a timer on them and only heat water when it's going to be used.

Over here I notice they are designed to be powered constantly with the thermostat set to 140F/60C to protect against Legionella.
