16. Aftersun (2022)

I like how open-ended this movie is, I feel like everyone will come away with a different reading on what it's saying to them personally, it's a great mood piece and the main mood I got was delayed sadness

15. Happy Gilmore 2 (2025)

It does its job of being overly stuffed with nostalgia from the first movie and constantly making you pause and rewind just to make sure that celebrity cameo you're seeing onscreen is actually there for real, good fun if you want to match its energy

14. Sunset Boulevard (1950)

Slow to start but Gloria Swanson draws complete attention every moment she's onscreen, even outside of that it's just a very solid and competent movie despite its advanced age and I do like the irony in that statement

13. Frieren Beyond Journey's End S2

Much worse than I was expecting, it felt like they were just rushing through content and left very few things to actually chew on, it's palatable if you're more attached to the characters than I am but it needs more than just that to be good

12. The Swan (2023)

A nice digestible little short movie that gets your blood boiling

11. The General (1926)

The stunts are really impressive but those alone aren't enough to make it actually good, it slipped more into the serious side rather than fully embracing the comedy and I think it didn't work as well as a result

I watched them almost exactly 1 year ago! I didn't mention it because I thought you would prefer girls band cry! (girls band cry is worse)

10. Deathtrap (1982)

I had a blast watching this, the superb acting and multiple levels of dramatic irony kept me hooked for the entire thing, plus it's just fun to see such unapologetic and deliciously evil characters

9. Breathless (1960)

This movie was trying way too hard to look like it wasn't trying hard, it's cool to see the way it has influenced stuff that came after but on its own it's not really any good

8. Wake Up Dead Man (2025)

A good solid mystery to get stuck into for a while, it successfully got me to not think and just enjoy the movie, I like how Josh O'Connor has this magnetic sadboy energy in everything I see him in

7. The Spirit of the Beehive (1973)

I think it's ironic how this movie shows the transformative power of cinema but failed to inspire that same feeling in me watching it, it's great in every technical aspect but I couldn't connect with it at all

6. ONE PIECE S2 (2026 show)

This show continues to toe the fine line of absurdity and self-awareness, they did very well in letting loose with the goofiness while keeping the emotional core intact, I would prefer more variety in the camerawork but it's not super necessary

5. WHAT DID JACK DO? (2017)

Thankfully doesn't overstay its welcome for too long, the absurdity gets old roughly 10 minutes in but it's a goofy little short

4. The Worst Person in the World (2021)

Emotionally exhausting but pretty good, I have some problems with the ending and how it portrays what I think it's saying, but I still enjoyed it and I like that everyone will have a different interpretation on what it's trying to do

3. The Suspended Step of the Stork (1991)

This is perhaps the most uncertain I've ever been after watching a movie, I have trouble reconciling the themes with each other and it's super slow, but there are some really good scenes in here which I think makes it worth it in the end

2. Cosmic Princess Kaguya! (2026)

This movie feels both overly long and really rushed at the same time, it's very pretty but it's so poorly paced that I got less engaged as it just kept going and then it punched me in the face with a terrible ending, overall thoroughly mediocre

1. Pride and Prejudice (1813 novel)

Surprisingly really engrossing despite how dense the prose can be nowadays, it was funnier than I expected and it ended up being ultra romantic, I think the ending moves a bit too quick for me but overall I liked it a lot
