Jack goes on to lay the foundation for future work to define physical resilience.
Older adults that did not recover back to baseline persistence values drove the significant findings. Older adults that did recover to baseline persistence values were not significantly different than middle-aged adults. Evidence older adults can retain physical resilience.
We created a windowed DFA to examine the effect of standing perturbations on middle-aged and older adults ability to recover the persistence (long range correlations in movement) in their anteroposterior sway.
Resiliency is hard to define and measure in research. Congrats to PhD student, Jack, and our collaborators @unomaha.bsky.social and
@unmc.bsky.social for seeing this project through to the finish line. Access here: rdcu.be/ecyej
