2 of my favorite podcasters in one podcast?!?! That was an incredibly cathartic listen. Thanks for that!

Not necessarily, I like both milk and dark chocolate, but actively dislike white chocolate. Not simply "eh, I prefer something else" but purposefully avoid eating it.

I wonder if white chocolate is one of those cilantro-tastes-like-soap situations, where it tastes different to different people. Because I can agree with you on the rest of your chocolate opinion, but I really can't stand white chocolate.

Charlie Kirk

I won't quote-tweet our main character of the day, but if your complaint is that Charlie Kirk's words are being taken out of context, I'd encourage you to skim through the Media Matters tag for his name. They have hundreds of posts about Kirk and most have longer clips that give the full context.

last night as i was trying to wind down for bed i had a unified theory of what the fuck just happened, and i wrote it down, and filed it under "well, i can't talk about this on main without sounding insane until and unless the perp gets caught and is provably a groyper"

anyways, great news! (1/X)

Small but underrated part of restoring healthier civ-mil norms would be retreating from the fucking OPERATOR TACTICAL aesthetic of service members to more traditional dress uniforms, etc. in terms of public presentation, etc. People that have desk jobs should wear the desk job uniforms, for example

That's my theory. He installed the first low-flow everything because he wanted to save money, and is too cheap to replace them with newer, better fixtures.

Got our first really good dishwasher when we moved into this house 10 years ago. I don't need a high-end fridge or stove, but man, you can pry my Bosch dishwasher from my cold dead hands.

My theory is that he installed the first iteration of low-flow everything when they first hit the market, and has been too cheap to upgrade to fixtures that work much better now.

Anything to deflect from the fact that these young men are making poor decisions, and expecting them to take responsibility.

Yeah, also direct deposit for paychecks. And for setting up Venmo. And how are they depositing money to Robin Hood without a bank account? This is not sound logic by Mark.

We lived in Alaska in the late 90's, and even then everybody there called it Denali. Calling it Mt. McKinley immediately pegged you as an outsider.

It's also possible the kid had a come-to-Jesus moment on what might happen if he screws something up.

Hopefully they have parents or somebody in their life yelling at them that if they screw something up they will be hung out to dry. They aren't billionaires, and Musk is happy to screw over his workers.

1/ As discussed on Friday's @openargs.bsky.social, ICE has always counted on well-meaning allies to handle a substantial portion of their psyops.

Here's what you should know about ICE "raids," and how I suggest that you talk about them as things unfold

House GOP searches for new plan as government shutdown nears Republicans revolted against a bipartisan bill, then the House rejected a party-line alternative. The shutdown deadline is hours away.

We're on the verge of a government shutdown, but let's recall the daisy chain of events that led us here.

This is not an overnight crisis. This was a slow-moving train wreck that began more than a year ago.

It starts in SPRING 2023 - Republicans leverage the debt limit to force spending cuts... ๐Ÿงต
