A good driver can always stop in time.
I did an emergency stop for a field mouse in Scotland once.
My family thought I was mad until I went out, picked him up and put him at the side of the road he was heading for 🐭

Mayor Mamdani and a group of children hold hands while running through red tape in a hallway.
For too long, bureaucracy kept 7 child care centers across our city empty — spaces that should have been alive with laughter instead collected dust.
We've run through that red tape. This fall, all 7 will open their doors, bringing an additional 240 free 3-K seats & real relief to working families.
Morning all.

I think we're looking at 4.5% next month with 1% on every month going forward up to a level of around 10% by year end. With far more UK companies now technically insolvent, I really do hope I'm wrong. All courtesy of AmericIsrael www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Call for action.
We all hate pavement parkers don't we as they're selfish morons.
Well here is a chance to influence action. There's a vote on Tuesday by MPs.
Please use this link to email you mp and ask them to vote for the amendment.

Never forget being doored by a driver almost 40 years ago.
Almost ripped her car door off as I flew over it & landed on the road in front.
The first thing she did was cry about the damage to her vehicle.
Lots & lots of near misses since in spite of my hyper vigilance passing any parked vehicle.

Clothes, shoe, bottle and paper recycling banks
It feels like a fever dream now.
The days when there were paper and bottle banks available within easy reach and in every supermarket car park.
Nothing now.
Today I hear from a resident in Birmingham that even when you take your recycling to the tip it's all being mixed and burnt 🔥☠️
Dark days.
Aerial photo of Landrover Discovery crashed into Wilberforce House
Close up of Landrover Discovery after crashing into Wilberforce House
This feels completely intentional.
Just seen this aerial photo on the Guardian website.
There's serious structural damage to the school building indicating a closing speed of over 40mph meaning that it could have entered the school grounds at over 50mph.
The vehicle had to cross a kerb and break down a steel fence.
After travelling down narrow bendy roads with vehicles parked on all approaches.
There was no straight access route on which you could build up the sort of speed you'd need.

They are so determined to keep their 'independence' that they're putting their lives and ours at risk ☠️
Having looked at the area around the school, I still don't get it.
The photo from Google Street View shows the approximate line of trajectory according to the final position of the vehicle.
This is the original thread post I made on Twitter at the time:
'We really need to know what the 'medical incident' was.
There's too many people driving who aren't medically or psychologically fit to do so.
Good to see this case being re-examined by the police watchdog as the original ruling was completely unsatisfactory.
I remember looking at the circumstances of the crash & there was at least a case for death by dangerous driving.
No justice no peace.

This recipe from @rachelaliceroddy.bsky.social is an absolute banger. Beautifully moist and utterly delicious with whipped cream. My top tip is to use a food chopper to process the nuts & chocolate as our food processor threw a hissy fit www.theguardian.com/food/2026/ap...

Queues of nearly stationary traffic on Kings Heath High Street
Took the recently opened Camp Hill Line today from Kings Norton - Kings Heath.
6 minutes.
Trains shrink cities & enable people to make better decisions.
They add so much more value than roads.
