Good news for those of you who've kept your #PAA2025 schedules clear for an Eva Research Bonanza... Tomorrow, I've got three back to back sessions and @skwigfall.bsky.social is presenting a poster of her mistrust research.

Here's a thread of the sessions and their topics. See you there!

As a fun fact, I’m a US National Silver Medalist in Taekwondo and have played the violin since I was seven years old. I’ll end this thread here now that you know a little bit more about me! Please feel free to reach out to me further if you have questions or would like to connect!

I’m interested in studying a variety of topics, many of which are related to emerging events and issues within our world (please see my bio). In my free time (when I’m not studying, working on my research, or tutoring students), I enjoy listening to music, reading for leisure, and being active.

NGP was my introduction to demography and has changed my life and my professional career for the better. I’ve received amazing support from program leaders, made lifelong friends and colleagues with the twenty other fellows, and settled on a career in demography.

I’m also a 2024 NextGenPop Fellow. For those who aren’t aware, Next Generation of Scholars in Population Research Fellowship is an NIH-funded program run by PAA that aims to increase the diversity of the population research field and nurture the next generation of population research scientists.

I really enjoyed explaining my research and seeing people’s reactions to the perspectives our participants shared with us. I will also be presenting this work at #PAA2025 and plan to finalize and submit the manuscript to a journal over the summer.

This experience sparked my interest and subsequently led me to pursue a research career. I elected to complete an undergraduate research thesis, which I successfully defended three weeks ago. Last week, I participated in my first poster session!

I came to love public health as I found it vital to learn about the fundamental causes of disease and the social determinants of health to address health disparities. In 2023, I joined a study investigating medical mistrust in obstetric care led by @evangelinewarren.com and @mfgallo.bsky.social.

Hi Bluesky folks! I figured I should give you a bit of an #intro. I’m a 5th-year Public Health student at Ohio State, graduating in about two months. After graduation, I’ll be moving to Europe to attend a graduate program in demography!
