I needed a good news story today and thought you might like it, too.

Hungarians singing 🎵 We are the champions 🎵 after finally finding out their vote is their power. 🤍 🗳
Just a gentle reminder: you don’t have to read fast, finish the longest book or have the prettiest shelf, if reading bring you peace, you’re doing it right.

The Dream Team failed. Total shock. We sent two of our most mediocre real estate developers and a fraud. Who could’ve guessed this outcome?
We deserve better South Carolina!
Anyone know what time the world ends tonight? I can't decide whether to defrost a pizza or not ...
Vance and Trump learned from Renee Good’s murder and have pushed their messaging toward fraud in Minnesota and Tim Walz being the “real reason” for the protests, avoiding saying much about Alex Pretti.
Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem have continued lying straight to our face.
There is far more outrage from tech leaders over a wealth tax than masked ICE agents terrorizing communities and executing civilians in the streets. Tells you what you need to know about the values of our industry.
OpenAI exec James Dyett calling out the cowardice
If Minnesota asks for our help and we help them, the Vikings could become the CFL's much demanded tenth club. 🤔
A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.
This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

JD Vance: "Wouldn't you rather lead a movement of freethinkers who sometimes disagree than a bunch of drones who take their orders from George Soros?"
My love for em dashes is as old as the hills and as mighty as my inability to make a transition between thoughts literally any other way and I will be damned if I let the clankers take that from me
Honestly, Dan is one of the greatest creators of small but brilliant things. Once you've got an emdash buy yourself a nice patch. shop.dansinker.com

It’s fun to think about the surgeon who will botch your surgery 20 years from now and what he’s doing at this moment. He just ran all his homework through ChatGPT. He just read that article about vaccines and autism at the CDC website. He just watched an Instagram video about the moon landing hoax.

Perhaps most alarming is the broadness with which it appears this standard will be applied. “Evidence suggesting a student visa applicant intends to travel to the United States to engage in unlawful activities clearly calls into question whether the applicant possesses intent and/or the ability to solely pursue a full course of study,” the cable states. But then it concedes that just because something isn’t technically "terrorist activity," consulars can still use “that information in assessing the credibility of a visa applicant's claimed purpose of travel.” Similarly in another section, it states that a student visa applicant doesn’t necessarily need to express explicit support for “terrorist activity” in order to be denied, but just that they demonstrate “a degree of public approval or public advocacy for terrorist activity or a terrorist organization.” It goes on to say: “This may be evident in conduct that bears a hostile attitude toward U.S. citizens or U.S. culture (including government, institutions, or founding principles). Or it may be evident in advocacy or sympathy for foreign terrorist organizations. All of these matters may open lines of inquiry regarding the applicant's credibility and purpose of travel.” DOS appears to admit here that they aren’t just instructing consulars to search for pro-terrorism content on visa applicants’ social platforms but that any whiff of opposition to a specific American person or issue can and should be used as a pretense to deny their application.
Rubio orders consular offices to vet student visa applicants' social media, and the standards for denial are so broad as to be basically meaningless.
Another @marisakabas.bsky.social scoop.
