Confession: When I'm feeling down about the query process, I post some fanfiction. Little confidence boost and writing practice to bring to my in-progress novels. Also helps remind me that all first drafts suck. You just have to keep going #WriterLife #WriterSide #WritingCommunity
In the query trenches with my upmarket fiction novel. Modern day coming-of-age League of Their Own but with just one woman who aspires to play MLB and struggles with the question many of us have: What was I made for? Happy baseball season! #OpeningDay2026 #BookSky #WritingCommunity
New book started - haunted thriller with deep themes - think of haunting of hill house (the tv show). How long will it take? Shooting for a year, but it depends if this book or my crime drama romance pulls me in more.
Would love some #writersadvice. I have a very well-established idea for a crime drama romance. Characters and plot amongst them are developed. Biggest issue: I want the mystery portion of the story to be just as compelling as the characters. How does one come up with an elaborate crime scheme?
The hardest rejection: "This is great...but not for me."
Agents often say no to projects they know will sell. But what does it mean? Why would they do that? Do agents hate money? Your book? Books in general? No.
