Coming out better off after using a social media platform is such an anomaly, I have other places to stay informed, politically and socially aware, but I want this to be a place to turn all that off and to enjoy my time each time I visit this platform

It says a lot about modern social media that i actually feel GOOD when browsing bluesky, people engaging in good faith and it feels like the platform itself engages with me in good faith. I like cultivating a non-political feed of places I can engage in and have positive interactions.

I think part of it is aggressive algorithm suppression and avoidance of said suppression which is (in part) why all these "alternative" words are commonly used. On a platform where this isnt such the case like bluesky I reckon the future holds a lot of potential for more nuanced discussion.

I think this is a symptom of the much smaller userbase of bsky, if it had the same amount of users as twitter it would probably show similar trends, there can definitely be a bias for the type of person to be an early adopter of a platform to be more open to discussion, or just the userbase diff

It *feels* quicker and more active too. You can be very tapped into active conversation which can be harder on twitter. I get posts that were posted less than a minute ago and responses alike.
