I've got no clue what Nintendos holiday game will be because every series have reasons why they may not happen. Most likely to me are:

- Smash 6 (Sakurai directed on kirby airriders)
- Zelda OoT remake (totk only being released 3 years ago
- 3d Mario (DK Bananza had some Odyssey staff on it)

A pokemon spinoff becoming the highest rated game in the series and being called an early goty candidate by reviewers was not something on my 2026 bingo card.

Lowkey this is one of the tougher decisions for me. I'm leaning towards Gecqua but that could easily change if Pombons final evolution isn't bipedal or fighting type (a fire/fairy starter would be sick)

Its a real shame that smiling friends is ending, especially when there's more potential for it. I doubt it would run stale in 5 seasons, especially given a season is made up of 10 11-minute episodes.

Unfortunately, if this is what the creators believe is best then we'll just have to live with it.

On top of this, I think that Prime 5 needs to open up with Sylux getting the upper hand on Samus. This can't be a rivalry if Samus always wins.

One possible set-up is that Sylux strands Samus on a remote planet by luring & ambushing her, destroying her ship in the process.

I think Prime 5 needs to give us a reason to dislike Sylux and sell us on this rivalry.

- Sylux was stranded on Viewros by Samus
- Samus was forced to escape meaning the GF Troopers are likely to be killed by Sylux
- Sylux can taunt Samus about this leading to a deeper conflict between them

Ngl I kinda love the ending of Metroid Prime 4, however Retro Studios need to capitalise on it in Prime 5.

Can't tell if it's more shocking if Zelda gets nothing for their 40th anniversary or if they get a big new game (announced at the very least).

TOTK released in 2023 and got no DLC (other than the Switch 2 edition alongside BOTW) so maybe an announcement could be looming.
