“Woke up to the sound of pouring rain; the wind would whisper and I'd think of you…” Jack channeling his inner Sebastian Bach.

Enjoying a relaxing birthday week in one of my all time favourite places with the love of my life 🐾
So bloody proud of my husband. After having to give up full time work in late 2022 due to poor health, today he was offered a job back as a wage slave. He’s been through so much, still dealing with chronic illness & ongoing health issues but he’s still here & he’s still fighting. Today is a good day
Surround yourself with the kind of people who are proud to have a library card.
He’s doing ok for a senior gent thankfully. Thinking he was playing, he loves hide and seek. He only has 3 hiding spots and this is one of them. Soon after this he was running around in the back yard convincing me 10.30pm at night was the best time to play fetch 😂

Frantic 10 mins searching the house as I couldn’t find Jack. Eventually found him sitting in the dark under the desk in the office 🤷♀️ He seems happy enough. #bassador #DogsOfBluesky
The Tricksters, Margaret Mahy. Lucky enough to be selected to attend Meanjin Young Writers Camp where she was a mentor. Went home & my brother wrote down two authors to check out at the library - Ursula K Le Guin & Octavia Butler. He then suggested Stainless Steel Rat. Very happy library reader.
I work in the metadata team for the 33 1/3 publisher. An absolute highlight of my job is getting to catalogue the the new releases. Cannot wait to get my hands on this one 😍
“I like me, my wife likes me.” One of the most poignant and powerful lines. This movie hits me every time.
Herbs, peas and broad beans haven’t done so well this year but oh boy it’s been a cracking year for potatoes so far. #potatoes #gardening #vegetables #homegrown #growyourown

Just a pic of Jack playing hide and seek. No reason other than he makes me smile. #bassador #hideandseek #dogs
Finally managed to remember my login details for Bluesky… and I’m supposedly a Discovery expert

Oh FFS. Ridiculous article. Sister-in-law is a GP (RACGP) & an RACP specialist in infectious diseases. My brother is also an RACP specialst. My mother a nurse. Trust me, when it comes to diagnosis, ongoing support & care plans she is the first point of contact for all of our medical needs. GPs rock.
Not meant to comment as part of this but have to break the rules here. Such a beautiful self-published story. Anyone who has ever shared their life with a dog will connect with this book. Never met the lovely boy Bert but he has a special place in my heart through @bertslegacy.bsky.social’s words

Did the same thing yesterday. Full on deep clean of the kitchen. Feel so much lighter - your comment about self care is spot on. This morning has been spent clearing out & reclaiming what is officially called the home office but for past few years has in reality been the dumping ground of lost hope
Have not heard of this one. Just put a reservation on a copy at my local library. Thank you!
optimist: the cup is half full
pessimist: the cup is half empty
me: have you finished with that yet? I’d like to clear and wash the cup up now please
Perfect Sunday morning. Lie in. Dog walked. Good tunes on the stereo. Weekly call with the parents. Second cup of tea. Bacon sarnie. Check the cricket score. Ah bugger. Burn it. Burn the day to hell. #AUSvIND
