To each their own! I do applaud Finnair for trying something different when so many airlines take the same off the shelf product.

Same happened to me on my last trip to EWR 😭
Taking in some college baseball, spotted some oceans. All in a day’s work.
Yea, that’s right. Staten Island Ocean spotting! All with backgrounds definitively proving it was actually in Staten Island.
It’s such a weird little ecosystem
Took a good long while to get here, but it seems like I’ll have some company real soon!
There it is!
You can kinda see it in this webcam. It’s over the water and pushing away.
10 mile visibility at JFK. 1/4 mile visibility at LGA. The two airports are 11 miles apart so this is just barely possible.
I was practically tripping over Oceans on the walk between the A train from JFK and home
Ehhhhh. Lots of variables in there. No more than $100 an hour
Aww, come on. Join the @oceansofnyc.com game and submit on the website! Incidentally, I’m about to upload the FIVE I spotted on my walk home from the A train after JFK lol
Thanks!
LED sign inside subway car reads (A) STAY ALIVE!
I’m doing my best, A train.
If connecting from JFK AirTrain to @mta.info subway at Howard Beach, there is only a single OMNY reader equipped gate to tap out, and that’s creating a long wait.
You used to be able to pay AirTrain exit and subway entrance fare in one MetroCard dip but nope can’t have that anymore. Incompetence.
Yikes, things do not seem to be going well with the JFK AirTrain right now. No trains running on the inner terminal shuttle loop, and trains are crush loaded. Delays being announced manually but nothing posted by PANYNJ, of course.
I think I actually got rug burn on my elbow from when I shifted my weight. Nearly the entire seat is fabric and it’s quite easy to accidentally do that.
I always forget how long that flight to JFK from HEL is. Great experience on Finnair today. Top notch service and food. There was even a fresh fruit service!
That seat, though. I’m not a fan. I just couldn’t ever get really comfy to watch movies. It seems great for sleeping, but not for lounging.
Thanks!
It is!
See you at a lounge somewhere nice!
Good afternoon and welcome on board Finnair flight AY15, with nonstop service from HEL to JFK. I booked premium economy but snagged a 420 EUR upgrade to business at the gate.
I’m very excited to try out this unique seat. It’s the fancy Finnair AirLounge, it doesn’t recline and I’m so very curious.
I think it’s just over
The Collins Aerospace SkyNook concept designed for the last row of a widebody aircraft. The concept features a folding table in the space between the inner seat and the aircraft sidewall to use the space for things like a baby carrier. The table folds up and down. The design also features a sliding privacy shield that extends to the edge of the seat.
On this week’s AvTalk podcast, @airlineflyer.net and @wandrme.paxex.aero take us through the highlights of the Aircraft Interiors Expo. American & Lufthansa celebrate their 100th birthday in very different styles. And a merger proposal that isn’t going to fly. www.flightradar24.com/blog/avtalk-...
I good, I see them now! Be a shame to lose any photos.
Keeps up the amazing dev work.
Love those E190 windows, where I get a great view even from an aisle seat. This Finnair flight was perfectly fine and comfy.
Once again I arrive into HEL at a bus gate though. Plenty of time to connect, but that’s still so annoying since the airport promises 40 minute minimum connection times.
I kept my eye out this week and didn’t see one
Good morning and welcome on board Finnair flight AY1424, with nonstop service from HAM to HEL, operated with a Norra E190. Been a while since I’ve been on any E190.
This frame is nearly 20 years but the interior looks really good! Ample legroom in the way back and no gate checked bags. Impressed!
And now for a Hamburg Airport lounge delicacy: Watery hot dogs
