She's the weirdest part of the film for me b/c in the novel she's Victor's childhood friend & his fiancée (not his brother's) and I cannot fathom why the change was made, partly for the on-the-face reason, but also her pseudo-affair with Victor made him skeevier than he needed to be for no reason
