Came across a real life Minion yesterday. Life’s been rough.
Is it bad that I want the sharks to win?
WAE Secretary-Treasurer Sasha Stewart in Times Square speaking at the AFM Rally for AI Protections and Fair Pay
WGAE Secretary-Treasurer @sashastewart.bsky.social joined the @afm-union.bsky.social rally for Al protections and fair pay today. The WGAE stands in solidarity with the AFM as they enter the second round of Sound Recording Labor Agreement negotiations!
Today marks the anniversary of the Selma march that helped deliver the Voting Rights Act and the Supreme Court decision that upheld the law. Sixty years later, the Court has largely reversed this civil rights victory.

As I was saying: A great night to consider running for office.
"Alito is essentially saying that districts drawn under the Voting Rights Act or other federal and state laws to remedy centuries of racial discrimination are as racist as the racism (including the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow) they were meant to rectify"
“In any normal administration this merger would be a non-starter. In this one, the corruption & capitulation of the Ellison family is the selling point," @notaaroncraig.bsky.social says about Paramount's takeover of Warner Bros, which would give the Trump-friendly Ellisons control of both CBS & CNN.
Aww thank you!!
Truly a dream comedy line-up! Come through!
Join me, @sashastewart.bsky.social, @jilltwiss.bsky.social and this INCREDIBLE list of late night comedy friends (see below!!) as we headline the YALL Comedy Fest with a night of comedy that never made it to air... cause if it did, it would be banned by the FCC :-)

Reading American history will break your heart a thousand times but it will also fill you with such admiration and awe for all the people who were excluded from the protection of America’s founding principles and fought to promote, protect and expand them anyways
Congrats!! So well-deserved. And yes what great company to be in!
Breaking: House passes new version of SAVE Act, worst voter suppression bill considered by Congress. Could disenfranchise:
-21 million Americans w/out access to citizenship papers
-69 mil married women who took partner’s name
-21 mil w/out valid drivers license

"while navigating an unstable job market" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting in that headline
We have enough evidence for UBI in general that this policy should be a given. But the difference is, to understand UBI works is to believe that people are fundamentally good. And a big chunk of society is built around the belief, *must maintain the belief* that people are fundamentally bad.
This is why Democrats need to compete EVERYWHERE.
We won’t win every race, but it’s stupid and irresponsible to simply forfeit certain races to incumbents. Always but especially now, we need competitive elections. And at the bare minimum, make them spend money defending seats they had won by 17 pts
This is why I donate monthly to @runforsomething.net -- they run candidates everywhere and are building the pipeline we need for the future we want and deserve. Let's go!
Taylor Rehmet, a Democrat (& @runforsomething.net candidate!) flipped a state senate district in Texas that Trump had won by 17 points.
Expand your imagination. When great candidates rooted in community step up to lead, anything is possible.
JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate.
Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards.
With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43.
Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.
This excerpt from @adamserwer.bsky.social's latest points to something that Alex Pretti's vocation as a nurse brought to mind: What we're seeing in Minneapolis is resistance, but resistance based on care.
I've said before that what we need is a care economy. What we're getting is a care resistance.
screenshot of text from Adam Serwer in The Atlantic: "The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they're the ones who are alone. In Minnesota, all of the ideological cornerstones of MAGA have been proved false at once. Minnesotans, not the armed thugs of ICE and the Border Patrol, are brave. Minnesotans have shown that their community is socially cohesive - because of its diversity and not in spite of it. Minnesotans have found and loved one another in a world atomized by social media, where empty men have tried to fill their lonely soul with lies about their own inherent superiority. Minnesotans have preserved everything worthwhile about "Western civilization," while armed brutes try to tear it down by force."
