I'm really pleased with that heel knot, the chainlink pattern absolutely whips ass and it's not too hard to tie at all. I'll be using it as my default turks head going forward I think

a CPVC whip handle with a pattern of several red strands followed by black, white, black, mimicking a coral snake. It is finished with a 7x6 turk's head knot in black and white with a chainlink pattern.

one of two hybrid handles. Get my light blue tape tomorrow, the second whip will be a full negative colors inversion of the first. My extra paracord arrives monday so I can begin plaiting both bellies. Tbh the bellies are the easy part it's these handles that take the work.

the wild thing is I didn't look up a tutorial for this at all. I knew how to bird's eye and do spirals and so I just figured out the layout I would need to combine the vibes in mspaint lol. I am one smart cookie on a good day! Never undervalue mspaint as a tool either.

this is a bird's eye plait with two staggered two strand spirals, one on either side, which will transition into the same in regular herringbone and quickly drop to 1 per side on my first strand drops, which will follow the two-tone roughly halfway down the whip. It ends in a pure burgundy twist!
