On 10 April, the EU Conversations 2026 conference organized by the Latvian Institute of International Affairs gathered experts to discuss 🇪🇺 internal and external policy, budget, security and defence.

Our 🇳🇱 delegation of offshore wind companies has arrived in Riga! On their first day, our 20 person delegation participated in a general briefing, followed by a round-table discussion on the topic of offshore wind energy.
Today, Ambassador Carl Peersman attended a business lunch on tax administration in Latvia. It was also a great opportunity to meet with Baiba Šmite-Roķe, Director General of the State Revenue Service.

🥼Today, we welcomed health care professionals from the Princess Máxima Centre in Utrecht and the Children's Clinical University Hospital in Riga. Together we had discussions on strengthening cooperation between 🇳🇱 and 🇱🇻 in the field of healthcare, especially in the field of paediatric oncology.

⚖️ At the Judicial Academy, Ambassador Carl Peersman met with Justice Minister Inese Lībiņa-Egnere and Parliamentary Secretary Lauma Paegļkalna during the annual informal meeting. Discussions focused on migration, human rights, security, disinformation, and continued support for Ukraine.
Today, we remember the deportations of over 42,000 Latvians to Siberia. At the Occupation Museum, we honour their memory and the importance of historical truth. Freedom is not self-evident. This is why we strengthen cooperation in NATO and the EU.
