Yeah I mostly work in agent mode but sometimes I drop into tab-completion mode when I want to be close to the metal

Oh damn I read that and got How's It Going To Be in my head instead
Can you challenge a bad redaction like this based on its content or do you have to pretend you didn't see it?
So lemme get this strait:
How blue
Three text strings: "Press the button, Frank." (from Mystery Science Theater 3000) "Shh, don't wake the pixels." "Here's Tom with the weather." (from a Bill Hicks sketch about drugs)
And I had fun writing the original. I smile when I see these jokes I wrote as random throwaway lines.
It is so much less fun to ask for refinements instead of writing the thing myself. Each prompt asked for fewer things but seemed to take longer than the last. And when I look at the code, it doesn't belong to me. I can scan it well enough but I'd need to take notes in order to manually tweak things
Screenshot of my math drill page. Black on gray. There are a lot of statistics like average time and first time accuracy. One line says "Been thinking a lot about a decorated book lately" followed by a cropped image of a fancy middle ages style capital letter.
Screenshot of Gemini's math drill page. Fewer statistics and more exclamation points. In between two sections is "Break Time" with the fun fact "There are 365 days in a year, unless it's a leap year, then there are 366! (calendar emoji)"
I asked Gemini to recreate a mental math drill page that I wrote a few years ago. Mine is based on Xtramath but without images or timers that my kid found distracting. I wrote the first version in a day or two and then enhanced it over the next week. The Gemini version took 4 prompts and one hour.
Oh, and PlatformIO in VSCode works great to build this firmware. It sounds like Docker except it worked immediately while Docker always leaves me regretting the entire path that led me to Docker
Anyway I'm going to go with Gemini in VSCode. Seems like it has the best results and fewest limits of the big name models.
This style of writing: bsky.app/profile/slob...
They had maybe two sentences of information in a three page article. And half the time that information was either wrong or useless, like "make sure you consider x and y" when that's why I'm here, your title said you knew about x and y.
I already hit my first frustrating obstacle. Copilot's free tier seens really limiting, so I tried searching for some comparisons of free tiers from other tools. Almost every web page that came up in that search was clearly written by an LLM.
My job has been encouraging programmers to try Copilot for coding tasks so I'm going to test out that process. I have a few ideas for plugins I want to see. And I needed a solid goal before I spend time on a new tool like this.
I'm using Sumi firmware, which is an anything-goes fork of the reader-focused Crosspoint. Sumi is heavily vibe-coded, to the point that the plugin page on the project website starts with a prompt builder. So it basically assumes you're going to use an LLM to get started.
A black Xteink X4 on top of its packaging. The screen is showing the default dark Sumi lock screen.
I bought an Xteink X4 from Aliexpress back in February. It took nine weeks to get here. I've wanted to play around with an e-ink screen for a while and the community open source firmware for this sounded like an easy way to get started
Don't Pet the Sweaty Things (and they're All Sweaty Things)
REGional INternet Outagepreventers
It appears that one of the options for the pick 3 combo is another pick 3 combo, in which case lunch is on me
So lemme get this strait:
Come outside, the street lights are on, we're gonna play mothball
Apps are now battlefields
"And that's what I'd really love to do, more than anything else. Except I'd probably hate it." youtu.be/dmzkO9R7OrI
I'm trying different ways to get there. I've been thinking about this type of thing for over a decade at this point so I'm sure it will still be there if I ever figure it out
I have ideas but have not managed to make the time to work on them for any sustained period
I want to explore the western foothills of the uncanny valley
I want to retire and make fun weird useless things
?
No heart attack is gonna be the end of me
"Once we have your money, we never give it back."
