In all seriousness, one of the rare pleasures of doing this job is getting to hang out with older people who earned their stripes making shows and movies that were formative for me when I was very young. It makes me sad that we make so much fewer series for kids now than they did back then.

I like to tell my gen-X colleagues that the cartoons I watched in the 90s were much better than the crap they grew up with. When they protest I remind them that they helped make the cartoons I grew up with. This confuses and annoys them. In the end they have no choice but to take the compliment.
