FDA clears first blood test of its kind for Lp(a) The new blood test from Roche Diagnostics measures Lp(a) in terms of nanomoles per liter (nmol/L) as opposed to milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL).

Hopefully this leads to more widespread use of molar concentration assays for Lp(a) measurement

Our new paper @jaccjournals.bsky.social showing that, in MESA, # of vessels with CAC and presence of CAC in the RCA are independently associated with risk beyond CAC burden. Addition of these measures to the CAC score + PCE or PREVENT improves risk prediction.
