There is no room in the United States, never mind Congress for this sort of rhetoric.
Supremely disappointing to see elected leaders cheer and praise the 3rd(?) illegal military operation in my lifetime
Two photos with captions from my special Positive Reinforcement. 1. I have a lot of hometown pride, but that's hard to show. Because it gets so aggressive when you're from around boston. 2. I have a red sox hat, and that's fine. But one notch above that gets too macho.
Two photos with captions from my special Positive Reinforcement. 3. The next level is a New England Patriots Jersey... 4. ...and the name on the back just says "BLUE LIVES MATTER" for some reason.
Two photos with captions from my special Positive Reinforcement. 5. Level three is a button down shirt with a camo pattern made of shamrocks, and it's called "shamouflage." 6. You're really only supposed to wear it when a Dropkick Murphy is born or dies.

NR; both COOKED.
Probably the last of Dungeon Crawler Carl pieces for a while, but I'll consolidate them here
After a brief memorial, laz lit the cigarette at 6:00am. The 2026 Barkley Marathons has begun. #BM100
Congratulations to my longtime collaborator Bad Bunny on his Super Bowl halftime show. (I only told this joke like this one time I think, and I just found the video this morning.)

I Photoshop Paddington into a movie, TV show, or pop culture until I forget: Day 1784

Steven Pacey is such an incredible narrator
I'm sorry for your loss and I can only hope to do the same when my time comes

#1: Revival, by Stephen King
This was highly recommended by a friend of mine and it did not disappoint - it's a story of tragedy, addiction, and how it shapes our life (and beyond). One of the best King endings in recent memory.
#2: At the Mountains of Madness, by H.P. Lovecraft
It's a classic for a reason - it's a spooky adventure/mystery into the horror of prehistory. There's lots of passages that were clearly inspirations for the modern day cosmic horror genre.
Also a very short read!

#3: A Short Stay in Hell, by Steven L. Peck
A novella that covers quite a bit: religious covenants, the concept of eternity, and the meaning of companionship.
It's a short read at just over 100 pages and well worth the time for the thinking that it forces, afterwards.
#4: Parable of the Sower, by Octavia Butler
An incredibly disturbing but somewhat hopeful look at the logical conclusion for corporatism.
The writing is haunting, dark, and all too prescient but incredibly compelling.
I had the BEST time with the Curiosity Desk team at GBH scouring the North Shore for its greatest roast beef sandwiches. I hope I did the true beefers proud!!! 🫡
#5: Tender is the Flesh, by Agustina Bazterrica
This one haunted me in a way that I've never felt before - it is disturbing and creepy in the best way. It is also the reason I've stopped eating beef and pork (for now).
Also has one of the best closing paragraphs in horror, imho!
#6: The Hellbound Heart, by Clive Barker
The Cenobites steal the show! This is a quick, creepy read and worth checking out for anyone that enjoyed the Hellraiser movies!
Book cover art for "The Fisherman", by John Langan.
#7: The Fisherman, by John Langan
I didn't know what to expect when this was recommended to me and I still don't really know how to describe it fully but if you like Lovecraft and cosmic horror, this may scratch an itch. The setting and character descriptions were a highlight.
If this was happening in any other country you'd have journalists and analysts discussing risks of state failure
