I’m so fed up of politicians denying the NHS the resources it needs to save lives, deflecting blame elsewhere, and then funnelling more and more money into private company hands. It’s grotesque. Patients are dying.

Still one of my absolute favourite Rik Mayall performances. Both my sons were introduced to this awesomeness about 10 years ago and loved it (YouTube)

The Conservative party accuses Keir Starmer of refusing to take child abuse seriously.

In other news, here's former Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson complaining about £60 million being "spaffed up the wall" investigating historic child abuse cases

Deal between NHS and independent sector to cut NHS waiting lists New agreement struck between NHS and independent sector to help tackle waiting lists and give patients greater choice

Labour today announce the largest increase in private sector contracts seen in a while.

The cash cow will continue to be milked.

Money corrupts.

One of the toxic side-effects of the rise in transphobia is this:

Any time I see an org that says it's about "women's rights" or focused on women in some way, I now stop and think, "do you mean ALL women's rights? Or just cis women?"

And that fucking sucks.

“Mummy,is Santa real?”
“No darling, the truth is Santa is a twinkling idea, made up of mummies & daddies & people who love you all working together to create magic” *whispering “But you must never never tell the secret because Krampus will hunt you down and devour you alive” *glances outside nervously

Sister Rosetta Tharpe- "Didn't It Rain?" Live 1964 (Reelin' In The Years Archive)
Sister Rosetta Tharpe- "Didn't It Rain?" Live 1964 (Reelin' In The Years Archive) YouTube video by ReelinInTheYears66

She was there before Elvis, Little Richard or Johnny Cash swiveled their hips and strummed their guitars. If you've never heard Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the godmother of rock 'n' roll, you should.

This is spectacular. The way the white and black have been used is fantastic and really brings it to life. It’s a Wonderful Picture ✨

I know people who still believe washing your hands prevents airborne viruses

It's genuinely sick that they are consulting groups that openly want to wipe trans people out on our healthcare. Beyond evil. How are these vile people not held to account

No way who could have seen this coming I definitely haven't been warning people about this for more than two years.

1. In a major development, the first national consensus guidelines for trans youth have been released in France.

They recommend affirmation and medical care, denounce "wait and see."

They refute much of the Cass Review.

Tubes of tomato paste sold in Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose

If you are buying these brands of tomato paste, you need to know they are being made using forced labour in China, not even Italian tomatoes as claimed on labels. See the article for some other brands outside the UK.

I can take or leave LOTR, The Silmarillion, what have you, but if he wrote nothing other than the postscript to this invitation card, J.R.R. Tolkien would have a secure place in history.

I have had to claim PIP 3 times now as I have been housebound for 9 years with M.E. The process is horrific and dehumanising and I now have what’s known as brown envelope anxiety. Last time I recieved one I sobbed with relief when I opened it and it wasn’t from the DWP

I once ordered a taxi in Belfast for a night out. The driver pulls up to my house and just says "yer not going out like that. Go back in and change, I'll turn off the metre." | swear I was wearing normal jeans and a normal jacket.

I wore a suit with a matching tie and pocket square to my first day of work at an advertising company (I thought I was going to be in Mad Men I guess) and the staff sent around and signed a communion card for me with a fiver in it.
