I wish my iphone captured all the greens I see. It does its best, but so much is missing.

The only reason they haven’t published the names of the Epstein clients is because then they wouldn’t have anything to hold over those powerful, influential, wealthy men.

An idea to help save polar bears: Let’s transform some of that horrible plastic in the Pacific into floating, artificial islands that float in the Arctic. That is all.

this country went for 250 years without "ICE" or "Homeland Security" - the Border Patrol, FBI, CIA, State Police, and Local Police are plenty of law enforcement for the us.

A farm worker removing weeds and dry vines

"Soco" is laboring removing weeds and dry vines in Tulare County, so that the vineyards are ready for the pruning season. She works 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday, earning minimum wage. She is a single mother and works very hard to provide for her children. #WeFeedYou

ICE is no longer arresting immigrants only. They are arresting anyone who films or speaks out. Sending them to concentration camps. I have been criticized for my analogy to 1930’s Germany. That is what we are witnessing.

Excerpt from end of linked Guardian article which reads:

“Experts, however, have questioned the legality of the operation, noting that it lacked UN security council authorisation, Venezuelan consent and a clear self-defence rationale. The UN charter obliges states to refrain from the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of others – a principle repeatedly invoked during the meeting.

“Yet the council, paralysed by divisions among its most powerful members, appeared no closer to a collective response. Any attempt to censure the US is certain to be blocked by its veto, one of five held by the council’s permanent members.”

It should not be possible to veto your own censure. #UN

Zohran Mamdani's best ad yet.

Sat on a roof with my dad when I was 11 or 12, watching a tornado form from a safe distance. Nothing like this, but it was pretty cool.

Despite what we are often told, this line from Mamdani’s inauguration speech is what true pragmatism actually looks like:

“Beginning today, we will govern expansively and audaciously. We may not always succeed. But never will we be accused of lacking the courage to try.”

I am the obsessed Bowie fan in the family, for many decades. In the ‘80s my mom took my little sister to a Bowie concert. When sis asked why I wasn’t going, Mom said, “Alex has to work.” (I lived/worked in a nearby town for college at the time.) But she never asked! I could’ve traded shifts.

Grrr

They tried to smear him as an antisemite – but Mayor Zohran Mamdani walks in a rich Jewish tradition | Molly Crabapple When I look at Mamdani, I don’t see some radical departure. I see him as an heir to the Yiddish socialism that helped build New York

“The hysteria of this elite over Mamdani’s ascent would have seemed bizarre to so many of their Jewish great-grandparents. In New York at the turn of the century, Jewish workers created a secular, socialist, but specifically Yiddish world. “

Tell Congress: Demand Speaker Johnson hold a vote IMMEDIATELY on the ACA tax credit extension Contact Congress today!

Happy New Year To Everyone, Including the UNHINGED LOSER "Tiny" Mike Johnson, who—despite his best but pitiful efforts—will fail miserably to stop us from extending ACA tax credits in January.

Now's the time to get loud about it:
