Jeanne Marrazzo: “We want a magic pill for women, but no pill can provide the freedom and power that most cisgender men have to pursue the sex they want. Until we consider this power imbalance, the potential for this [doxyPEP] or any intervention will be limited.” #CROI2026

🚨The Scottish Parliament has voted against the ‘Nordic Model Bill’ in a win for sex workers' rights.
Jacqui Stevenson, Senior Policy, Research & Influencing Manager, congratulates Scotland for Decrim: "This victory would not have been achieved without their tireless campaigning."
The evidence is clear: criminalisation of sex work increases the risk of #HIV transmission.
Only when sex work is fully decriminalised will Scotland be able to achieve the 2030 goal to end new HIV transmission.
📢Sex work decriminalisation is vital to ending #HIV transmission in Scotland.
Scotland for Decrim, with support from National AIDS Trust & academics, are calling for the full decriminalisation of sex work: nat.org.uk/publications/scotland-se...

Great to see this important editorial in the Lancet HIV profiling a report I'm really proud of working on. We have to adapt to ensure the UK's HIV response is up to the task of achieving equity, or women will continue to be left behind.

10 million potential new HIV infections by 2030; 3 million potential more deaths, including 120,000 children, due to HIV-related causes by 2030. This could be the impact of HIV funding cuts.
A decline in funding for the HIV response could result in millions of preventable new infections and deaths, with up to 120,000 of these deaths affecting children.
International cooperation is essential to sustain the advances we’ve made in HIV prevention, testing, and treatment.
