Zhinxy's account may have been mysteriously suspended, but we cannot let Superman Day pass without her cherished copy of Lois Lane #80. It was altered by a previous owner so that the iconic Curt Swan superman is a beatnik saying "Hey, baby, cool off!" She would save it in a fire.

Masked luchadores Santo & Blue Demon want to spend a quiet Saturday night playing chess, but Santo’s sweetheart Luisa (Elsa Cárdenas) has other plans. Her intimate gathering quickly escalates into a scandalously hedonistic bacchanal.

One key is that the Muppet Show was a family show as opposed to a kids show, so occasional guests who were unknown to kids was ok. I probably didn’t recognize most of them, come to think of it.

Even “Challenge” was writing checks with that amazing intro that they couldn’t possibly cash.

George Reeves also exuded kindness as Superman (and Clark Kent!)

He's also a terrible photographer who only takes badly focused pictures of Spider-Vicar.

I also like that I don't know exactly what Taylor thinks about everything, when it's still her first story. But I really WANT to know more!

I think that's one of the reasons I loved the story so much - how low-key a lot of stuff is played (especially by the standards of superhero comics.)

Compelled to point out that this is what the earliest air combat looked like around the start of the First World War; pilots shooting from their aircraft with shotguns, rifles, or pistols.

This seems like it should have sold pretty well, especially in a 60s context. More appetizing than most canned meat products.
