My biggest issue is the ethical one. So many people wonder how to do stuff, without considering whether it's the right thing to do.
There are great uses for AI, particularly in terms of pattern recognition in areas such as diagnostics (medical, engineering, economics, etc.)

As a creative, there is nothing more frustrating than having AI pop up from everywhere asking if I would like it to "help".
Although I'm sure much of what people are calling AI is actually ML (machine learning) not AI.
I am getting so sick of AI assistants in apps.
I want to read my document, not have AI summarise it.
I don't want Alexa to recommend stuff to me.
I want to easily turn the AI bot off, so that it stays off. Is that too much to ask?!
There's nothing worse than getting to 90% in a book, as the tension builds, and realising there's too much book left for the next few chapters to go well π«£
I'm scared, and there's no way I'm stopping now even though there's still an hour and a half to go. Who needs dinner anyway...
Or is the fundamental problem with terms that they believe a woman can be defined by a man? That a woman's existence is only valid as viewed by a man.
I have a question:
If only men train the AI then the AI will 'think' and behave like a man. If they then give that truck AI a female voice, is the truck a male dressed up as a female...cross-dressing, or is the truck trans? Because it's not female according to most male and TERF definitions π€
While attached to a long metal cable?
I think people overestimate my throwing ability...I might need mechanical assistance...a crossbow? A harpoon? A grappling hook!
(looks up several grappling hooks on the same online shop)
Why do none of these have a warning β οΈ about power lines? π€

Product Safety Warning: Do not use near overhead power lines.
Why, when I go to buy a book online, is this the product β οΈ warning?
Definitely not IN my porch.
Good thing it's not raining...
What is the point of telling me when my delivery will be, if you then fail to meet your own estimates?-Royal Mail Edition
Please note the timestamps.
And you didn't leave it in my porch. You left it outside, because having missed the window you gave me, I'd locked my porch & gone to do something.
Headline:
Rylan slams misogyny...
Headline also:
Fails to mention the woman stood next to him
π If I rolled my eyes any harder I'd be able to see my brain.
If the headline writer rolled their eyes that far they'd be sucked into a vacuum.

Also a problem for single dads with daughters and single mums with sons.
The only thing this will do is make the queue for the only ungendered toilet longer. BTW... that's the disabled toilet, that there's never enough of.
Stop making it difficult for people to use a toilet.

How A Publisher Almost Killed The Book I Waited My Whole Life To Write: a thread
My novel Villager came out in 2022. It was published by Unbound, who had little marketing/sales power. But I was excited & proud, since I worked so f-ing hard on it.

A great article from Rachel, who really understands the heart and soul of Dadβs work.
Oh, I don't try to hide my weird. I like to wave it around. It scares off the boring people and it's like a beacon for my fellow weirdos.

That's just sad and pathetic. Would any of them work with an author who was openly racist? How morally bankrupt are they?
I already wouldn't touch Audible as it rips off authors, taking the lion share of their royalties and creating schemes within their monopoly that will further defraud authors.
