For what it's worth I think websites are useful for when people google you or your work so they can find further links, but not completely mandatory to have. Blogs I think should only exist if you really want to have a blog - they'll reach enthusiasts but definitely not a general audience.

Is the website really dying or are people just saying that? I don't know if collapse is inevitable, but if it is, I don't think it will be sudden. You'll have time to find an alternative if and when that happens.
I wish they would give us a preview option at least, so we can make adjustments before posting...
also 60 fps is plenty. it's okay if it's not the smoothest movement you've ever seen in your life, it's just a video game. we can live with it.
alright hot take over, I'm going back to playing Pokémon Crystal.
hot take: Skyrim looked good enough. We don't 3D need games to be any more realistic than that. Stylistic experimentation is great, but please stop making games require more and more expensive hardware just for the sake of "realism". We had enough realism fifteen years ago.
Thank you!
I had to look up if this quote was real and I found the full interview and it's been a very interesting read so thank you for that!
nostalgia.
I'm very sorry to hear that, best of luck dealing with it. 🫂
(don't worry, I'm probably not going to start working on a city builder)
there's value in starting projects you can actually finish, but I also believe you should make the games you want to play and I don't want to play a sub-five minute experience with simple mechanics, I want to play something that I'll sink 80 hours into while having to read wikis for half that time
today in stupid gamedev ideas: "I should make a city builder"
oi
no offense but if your game is about a dude with a gun then I don't want to play it
and that is one of the reasons why I'm no longer on windows 🙃
trans day of visibility post
(sorry for the repost, had to make a small tweak)
I don't often try to specifically emulate others' styles, so this was pretty interesting! I can already spot some areas that are not exactly how the Pokémon sprites work and they're a bit on the small side overall, but I'm happy with them and they were fun to work on!
A pink feathered velociraptor in the style of the gameboy color Pokémon games.
A yellow proteceratops in the style of the gameboy color Pokémon games.
The "Fighting Dinosaurs" as gen 2 Pokémon sprites.

going through a bit of a depressive episode. this will negatively impact my creative output. might step away from social media for a while.
super cool!
tired.
thanks!
thank you!
it was fun working on a lower resolution than my last attempt, although sadly some words did not get to keep all of their letters. there's only so much you can squeeze into that amount of pixels, even with a 3-pixel wide font.
