This is sickening. "Conversion therapy" is abuse. That's why Illinois banned its use on minors a decade ago, and it's why it should be banned everywhere.

My campaign has also received endorsements from grassroots organizations with steadfast commitments to social and economic equality! Many of these organizations are where I got my start as a community organizer. I can't wait to bring the same energy to Springfield!
I'm grateful that my campaign has been endorsed by progressive champions that I've long looked up to! Some of my first experiences with state and local campaigns were for these now-elected officials. I look forward to continuing to work with them as we build a more just system that works for all.

You need two pieces of identification - one with your current address (can be a utility bill or lease) and one with your face (can be a driver's license or passport or active student id).
You DO NOT have to have an Illinois ID as long as you have that proof of address.
Take Two Forms of Identification At least one form of ID showing your current address is needed. These may include but are not limited to: • drivers license • bank statement • residence contract/lease • utility bill • State identification card number
Hi friends! I’ve had this conversation several times today with people who recently moved here, and it’s important to know:
People can register same day at all early voting locations!
I’m happy to share that our campaign has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Illinois Action! Reproductive freedom is a personal topic for me. As State Representative, I will work to ensure the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare is affordable and accessible for all.
I am fighting to keep healthcare available and accessible to marginalized communities because no one deserves to be sacrificed. Now is the time to stand up for the rights of undocumented immigrants and the queer and trans communities, not back down to the Trump agenda.

We’re excited to endorse @sunjayforillinois.com for the Illinois State House D-13! A public servant and community leader, Sunjay is committed to strengthening local services, investing in infrastructure, and building safer, more inclusive neighborhoods.
I'm fighting for the people that make this neighborhood so great. We need stronger protections immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks and abortion access. We need better funding for housing, healthcare, public schools and public transit. And we can do that when corporations and billionaires pay their fair share.
2/3: We amplified the demands our siblings in Minnesota have made: for Target to protect their employees from being arrested and assaulted at work, and publicly call for ICE to leave our states. Target should know that there's a cost to supporting the MAGA regime.
1/3: Eight of our leaders and movement allies were arrested last night as nearly 100 of us gathered outside the West Loop Target to protest Target's support of ICE.
Join us for a phone banking session tonight, or a canvassing session on Saturday!

It's time for our elected officials in Illinois to show the same courage.
I have been on the ground since Trump was inaugurated last year, doing know your rights canvassing and rapid response work in our neighborhoods. Our community has shown up for each other in incredible, courageous ways, and I have never felt more proud to be a Chicagoan.
Any state or municipal police officer who collaborates must be immediately suspended without pay. And we must prosecute any federal agent that violates our neighbors' rights.
I know that we will continue to stand up against these violent fascists. I also know that we need our elected leaders to do more to keep all of us safe. In Illinois, our government must immediately ban any information sharing with DHS agencies.
As a queer person, I see my family in Renee Good's family. As a brown child of immigrants, I see my family in Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez's family. I know that when federal agents come after Chicago again, I and my neighbors will be in the same danger the people of Minneapolis are standing up to now.
Masked federal agents are kidnapping, trafficking, and abusing children. They are murdering community members in cold blood. They are doing so for explicitly white nationalist reasons under the direction of Stephen Miller. The federal government is perpetrating ethnic cleansing.
Warming shelters with extended hours are available at:
- Garfield Center at 10 S. Kedzie
- Chicago Police District buildings
CPL, Park District Buildings, and the North Area Community Service Center (845 West Wilson Avenue) are open during standard business hours.
A group of people sitting and waiting to hear from presenters about the proposed project.
Packed house tonight at the meeting about the proposal from Sarah's Circle for a “multi-building supportive housing campus that would anchor the block with a mix of deeply affordable apartments and on-site services for women at risk of homelessness.”
Also, use due care with space heaters and other risky heating methods:
The fire department reminds residents that they are required by ordinance to have working carbon monoxide detectors to protect against carbon monoxide leaks from a heating system.
As the extreme cold warning currently extends from 3am-noon, it should be noted that Truman College (near the Wilson Red Line station) is open at 8am, and is one of the earliest-available warming centers.
