Exactly. And as to why they make those decisions is excellent character development.

I think I’d phrase it less as ‘bad’ decisions and more as ‘risky’ decisions that make for a good plot; which can also fall into bad decisions, but I just think there’s a little more nuance to it.

I think there’s a fine line to tread, though. Because if you have a character we make too many bad decisions too often, you risk alienating an audience. Though, it kinda depends on the character.
